New Nordics HealthTech Matchmaking was a triumph! 🎉🎉🎉 On the evening of Slush Day 1, Terkko was buzzing and packed with attendees of the organised-for-the-first-time-ever Slush side event, New Nordics HealthTech Matchmaking. Had an absolute blast representing Zeta Diagnostics and meeting all the brilliant Nordic startups and life science investors last night at the Terkko Health Hub in Helsinki! After a whirlwind day of fast-paced (and let’s face it, sometimes borderline speed-dating) meetings at Slush, this was the perfect way to wind down. The vibe was informal, the discussions were enlightening, and let’s just say both the investors and our startup friends became increasingly philosophical as the evening progressed! Huge thanks to Terkko Health Hub, Health Incubator Helsinki, and our local friends at Health Tech Hub Copenhagen (Nicolas Bouchet and Anett Falussy) for arranging, hosting and promoting such a fantastic event. Terkko's monthly wrap-up: October edition 🎃 Let's finish the week by looking back at all the things that kept us busy last month! 🙌 In October our community grew by 3 new members, and we have now hit a milestone of 90 alumni companies! 🎉 🗞️ COMMUNITY NEWS: 👏 Uute Scientific Oy completed their clinical study and was able to show that nature exposure helps people who already have an immune-mediated disease 👏 Our new members and the newest spinout from University of Helsinki - MONCYTE Health - secures EUR 1 million capital to advance personalised treatment for high cholesterol 👏 NE Device SW Vitacam becomes part of Evondos Group family 👏 Some Business Finland news, too! Fepod Oy Ltd was awarded a €1M Deep Tech Accelerator (DTA) loan, and Ankerias Oy - Tempo Funding 👏 MedicubeX Ltd wins the digitalisation act of the year hosted by Atea Finland Oy 👏 Polku Therapeutics and Smart PD Solutions Ltd / Kiwecare won the Health Design pitching competition backed by angel and VC syndicates 🗓️ COMMUNITY EVENTS (what a month!!): 🔸We hosted Pekka Simula from Innovestor for our monthly Investor Meetup series 🔸Community Break with Spanish Delegation - startups from Spain came to mingle with Terkko startups over coffee and tea 🔸Plenty of opportunities for Office Hours! Our partners FGK Clinical Research GmbH, EstiMates Oy and Catalyze Group spent a day in Terkko doing 1-1s with our members and helping them with their cases 🔸We also had two Terkko Workshops highlighting the fall - with EstiMates Oy on clinical trials and with Catalyze Group on European grant applications ☕ EVENTS HOSTED AT TERKKO: 🔹It's recruitment fair season! The yearly Kandilääkäripäivät and bi-yearly Health and Life Sciences Career Fair (co-organised with Helsinki Think Company) brought over 150 attendees to our premises. At the afternoon's Terkko Workshop we delved into investor deck essentials with Polar Hedgehog! 🎨 Founders and Co-CEOs Daniel Dayag and Mor Ratzin joined us to share insights on how to maximise the impact of an investor deck. Workshop attendees received plenty of invaluable tips on typography, visualisations, layouts and other design principles. ✏️ Polar Hedgehog is a design firm that works exclusively with early stage tech startups. They help founders shape how their company is perceived by the target audience. As the startup's dedicated design team, they build recognisable brands, help achieve global reach with a strong web presence, design clear investor decks, and easy to use products. ❔Terkko Workshops is an event series where we invite our partners to hold a training, seminar or a workshop with our community.
