His focus is on maximizing the benefits of regenerative agriculture. 🌾♻️ 🌱The field we visited was prepared for sowing back in early autumn. The crop residues were left over the winter as mulch, enriching the soil with essential nutrients and organic matter 🌿 Healthy soil starts with proper crop residue management! Developing innovative and sustainable food solutions is one of our priorities. Here comes the latest 📢✨– Please tell us what you think about them – We will collect consumer feedback to develop the products further with a help of a QR code on the packages. 🌾Fazer Taste the Future is a grain-based candy tablet. No cocoa is used in making the tablet. Instead, it contains 10% malted oats or rye. 🍬The tablet is called candy tablet, not chocolate tablet since no cocoa is used in making it. 🍓 🌿There are two flavours – Red Berries and Mint Croquant with soft, mouth-watering textures. Vegan, malted oat-based Red Berries tastes sweet with dried cranberries and raspberries. Malted rye-based Mint Croquant tastes sweet with mint flavoured almond croquant. 🌾Grains for both tablets come from the Lahti region, Finland. Fazer uses only domestic rye and oats in its production. 🌱Both candy tablets are palm oil free. ✋ Handmade Fazer Taste the Future tablets are produced as a limited edition in Helsinki. We launched a series of workshop meetings with malting barley producers in Poland🌾. Participants are members of the Farm Management Group created by Viking Malt Poland. Its goal is to promote and develop a sustainable farm management system within the malting barley supply chain in Poland. 🌍 The project is being implemented in collaboration with our partners from Yara Poland and SAATEN-UNION. 👉 Yesterday, the first training session in the series took place. It was divided into three parts: 🌱 Principles of Regenerative Agriculture The first presentation, delivered by our representative, covered the principles of regenerative agriculture in the context of malting barley cultivation. We introduced techniques and practices aimed at improving soil health 🏞️, increasing biodiversity 🐝, and maintaining ecosystem balance. 🌾 Effective and practical fertilization of malting barley Yara Poland presented a session on effective and practical fertilization of malting barley. Various strategies and fertilizer products were discussed, which can enhance yields 📈 and barley quality while ensuring sustainable soil resource management. 🌿 Cover Crops as a natural way to improve soil fertility The final presentation, by Saaten-Union, addressed the use of cover crops as a natural method to improve soil fertility. The speaker focused mainly on the benefits of using cover crops, such as improving soil structure 🌾, increasing organic matter content, and preventing erosion 🌍. The meeting concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and gain additional insights on topics of interest. The training was highly rated as valuable and inspiring ✨, which will undoubtedly contribute to the further development of sustainable agriculture among malting barley producers working with Viking Malt Poland. 🙏 We appreciate your great engagement and interest! We are very pleased to announce that we signed a EUR 130 million committed and EUR 45 million uncommitted facilities agreement on 5 February 2025. With this agreement we have secured 3 years long term financing plus two extension options of one year each for Viking Malt Group. This set up will stabilize and increase the company’s liquidity reserves compared to past 2-3 year period. The facility is provided by a syndicate of three banks; Danske Bank A/S, OP Corporate Bank plc and Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A. OP Corporate Bank acted as Coordinator and Agent in the transaction. Viking Malt will continue to work with both Danske Bank A/S and OP Corporate Bank plc. We are also very happy to onboard the 3rd partner, Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A , to this journey. Rabobank is a large international cooperative Food and Agri bank headquartered in the Netherlands and is fully owned by Dutch farmers. 🏦 Hannes & Snellman acted as our legal advisor and the work was performed professionally and efficiently by Mr. Markus Bremer and his team. 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭. In the project, we will test SAI Platform’s Global Framework for Regenerative Agriculture with Danish pilot farms. Through this project, we will support the implementation of regenerative agriculture with facts based on both science and practice. The aim is to create the prerequisites for a national standard for regenerative agriculture in Denmark. We will now start the process of finding pilot farms. Thanks to Carlsberg for hosting us at the first meeting.
