Kurkkaa VTT:n uuden vetykeksinnön sisälle! 🏭👀 ⚡ Vety on keino varastoida energiaa kaasun muodossa. Gasgrid julkisti tänään suunnitelmansa vedyn siirtoverkon rakentamiseksi, kertoo MTV Uutiset. ⚡ “Vetyä kannattaa käyttää niihin asioihin, joissa suora sähköistäminen on hankalaa. Eli esimerkiksi pitkän matkan liikenteen, lentoliikenteen ja raskaan liikenteen käyttövoimien korvaamiseen”, VTT:n Antti Arasto avaa. Katso uutisklipistä, millainen on VTT:n konttiin rakennettu elektrolyyseri, joka tekee sähköstä ja vedestä vetyä ⬇️ Kohdasta 12:04→ https://hubs.ly/Q02ZNsMV0 #VTTBeyondTheObvious #vety #vetytalous #energia

VTT julkaisi tämän uudelleen
Research Scientist at the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland & President of the Nordic Rheology Society
A few weeks ago, we had a group of nanoscience students from University of Jyväskylä visiting us at VTT Jyväskylä. We had great time in presenting some of our current research topics to them, especially related to the development of novel fiber-based materials and products. We also made a tour in our labs and at our pilot facilities to see how these fiber-based materials can be manufactured in an energy- and water-efficient manner using foaming, and to see how we can characterize the properties of these materials. There were a lot of great questions from the students - thank you for the lively discussion! We’re working to change how media reaches you! 🛰️📱 VTT is joining an initiative that brings together 34 organisations across Europe to integrate satellite and 5G networks. At VTT, we’re focusing on the Direct-to-Device (D2D) use case, where media is delivered straight from satellites to devices like smartphones or smart TVs. Our work involves large-scale system simulations and satellite constellation design, in collaboration with MediaTek, Magister Solutions, University of Oulu, and Keysight Technologies. 🛰🌐How can we improve media distribution using 5G? Introducing ESA’s 5G-EMERGE! 📺We're thrilled to announce the next phase of our project, part of our Space for 5G/6G & Sustainable Connectivity programme. This initiative is set to revolutionise content delivery by integrating satellite technology with 5G networks, expanding reach to areas with limited terrestrial network access. 🌍Phase 2 introduces Direct-to-Device (D2D) 3GPP connectivity and further optimises technologies, paving the way for efficient and scalable media distribution. Co-funded by ESA’s Advanced Research in Telecommunication Systems’ Space for 5G/6G and Partnership Projects programme, 5G-EMERGE brings together 34 companies from eight ESA Member States, improving service delivery and lowering the commercial viability threshold for various use cases. We're making photonics part of everyday medical devices! 🩺⌚ 💡 VTT is leading a €32M project with 39 partners across 9 countries to speed up the commercialisation of photonics-based medical devices, making healthcare tools more accurate, faster and less invasive. 💡 “Until now, the gap between research and manufacturing has been a major hurdle in introducing photonics innovations for medical applications. The PhotonMed project aims to bridge the gap by creating structured industrial supply chains and leveraging a pilot line R&D model to facilitate faster commercialisation,” says VTT’s Jussi Hiltunen. Great news from our spin-off company SemiQon: World's 1st transistor capable of functioning efficiently in cryogenic conditions 🧊 "SemiQon’s optimized transistor capable of functioning efficiently in cryogenic conditions is an important milestone in the development of future quantum computers. Its pioneering work aims to make deep-tech innovation profitable,” said Erja Turunen, Executive Vice President at VTT. #quantumcomputer #VTTSpinoff VTT LaunchPad
📢 SemiQon is proud to announce the launch of the world’s first transistor capable of functioning efficiently in cryogenic conditions. This new innovation – our cryo-CMOS transistor – will play a crucial role in addressing the critical challenge of scaling today’s quantum computers to fault-tolerant levels and unlocking the full potential of quantum. Because of its exceptional performance in ultra-low temperatures and low power consumption, our transistor has wide application potential also in other fields, including space technologies. “Our company is just 2 years old, and already we’ve delivered something which the world has never seen before. Our cryo-CMOS transistor will provide considerable advantages to users both in terms of CapEx and OpEx, as well as by enhancing the functionality of their hardware,” explains SemiQon CEO Himadri Majumdar. Our new transistor reduces the amount of expensive control electronics infrastructure required for quantum computers, making future QCs significantly less cumbersome to build and more efficient to operate. In short, with our cryo-CMOS, we’re scaling up quantum computers while stripping down the quantum chandelier ✨ ↘ Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/ek68pzqC 🎩 Hats off to everyone who has contributed to making this achievement possible: Nikolai Yurttagül Markku Kainlauri Jan Toivonen Sushan khadka Antti Kanniainen Arvind Shankar Kumar Diego Subero Juha Muhonen Mika Prunnila and Janne Lehtinen.
