  • “The key to success is to never give up and dance along the way!”🕺🧡 As a mechanical engineer, Cameron Croll had never considered a career in quality. However, he had always been a problem solver, which his colleagues quickly noticed. Now, he works with quality at Wärtsilä Energy, continuously improving tools and processes together with his team. ⚙️ “Without problems to solve, I would be like a firefighter with no fires to put out. Some of the larger projects take years to complete, which is why I think it’s important to celebrate the small successes on the way. These could be for example acquiring a new stakeholder for a pilot or just a really productive phone call with an important stakeholder. Every time I feel like I’ve accomplished something difficult and valuable, I get up from my chair and dance!” Challenges get in the way of project work, but with leaders’ and colleagues’ support, the team finds ways to overcome them. Cameron believes that you can do almost anything if you celebrate small victories and never give up. 💪 #FuelYourPower #EnergyIndustry #EnergyTransition #careers

  • #HotOffThePress - We have signed a five-year Lifecycle Agreement with NMDC Group (NMDC) for seven of its dredgers. Focusing on optimising these vessels' availability and operational efficiency, the agreement represents a significant step forward in strengthening our partnership with NMDC. With demand for its services increasing, the availability of its vessels is essential to NMDC’s operations. By leveraging Wärtsilä’s cutting-edge digital tools, NMDC is expected to significantly reduce planned downtime, leading to increased revenues. According to estimations made, the additional uptime made possible by the agreement may increase the operational and charter/client schedule flexibility, and provide the potential for additional earnings up to 3,000,000 EUR. “NMDC’s fleet operates in highly demanding environments, where uptime and vessel flexibility are critical. Our tailored digital solutions and expert operational support will ensure that their vessels are not only more reliable but also operate at peak efficiency throughout the contract duration, in turn, saving fuel and lowering emissions,” - Henrik Wilhelms, Director, Agreement Sales at Wärtsilä. • Hail Cement Company (HCC) in Saudi Arabia has a clear goal: to become the most efficient cement company in the region. But how did they turn this vision into a reality? Their first step was building a 52 MW power plant to reduce dependence on the external grid. However, this brought a significant challenge: operating the plant efficiently while maintaining high reliability. In 2013, HCC signed an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) agreement with Wärtsilä, entrusting us with day-to-day operations, preventive and predictive maintenance, manpower management, and health and safety. With a tailored agreement designed specifically for HCC’s needs, we’ve consistently delivered on performance guarantees, ensuring the plant operates efficiently and reliably, empowering HCC to focus on its core business of manufacturing cement. • #HotOffThePress - We are proud to strengthen our ‘Set for 30’ decarbonisation commitment with a bold new target. By 2030, we are committed to reducing 25% of the greenhouse gas emissions from our Tier 1 direct suppliers, focusing on their scope 1 and 2 emissions related to deliveries to Wärtsilä. With this, we are expanding our already ambitious decarbonisation targets to scope 3 greenhouse gas emission category. “By focusing on our direct Tier 1 suppliers, we cover 75% of our entire supplier base spend. Also, by working together with our selected suppliers on target-setting, we ensure the largest possible impact.” - Jan Kåre Helgeland, Director, Supply Management, Wärtsilä For decades, sustainability has been at the core of what we do, and we’re constantly pushing boundaries to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations and develop a fully zero-carbon fuel-ready product portfolio by 2030. We have achieved significant milestones so far, including launching the marine sector’s first 4-stroke engine-based ammonia solution and also launching a concept for the world’s first large-scale 100% hydrogen-ready engine power plant Read more in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/gg7pcfWW Wärtsilä Marine Wärtsilä Energy #SetFor30 #EnergySavings #decarbonisation #sustainability

  • Did you know that 36% of professionals in Europe plan to change jobs within a year? Their #1 reason: Lack of professional training & development at their current employer*. 🌱 This should be a wake-up call for any company planning to stay vital. At Wärtsilä, developing high-performing teams is one of our strategic priorities. Last week, we took yet another step on our journey to build a learning organisation by organising companywide Learn & Grow Days, with nearly 2,000 colleagues joining online to learn on important topics such as agile, data & analytics, and continuous improvement. While formal learning sessions are valuable, our learning model enables the majority of Wärtsilians’ growth to happen while working and sharing with colleagues, embracing continuous learning. 🔄 And it seems to work! Wärtsilians’ experiences on development are well above external benchmarks; 80% of us feel we have good opportunities to learn and develop at Wärtsilä*.    How high do you value professional growth opportunities at work?   A big thanks to all our subject matter experts for sharing your knowledge during our Learn & Grow Days and to Alexandra Rosendal for coordinating the event! 🧡   *Sources: Universum Talent Outlook 2025, and Wärtsilä MyVoice 2024    #FuelYourPower #PersonalDevelopment #GrowthMindset #careers

  • Wärtsilä’s report on global power system modelling calls for decisive actions from the entire power sector to achieve a low-cost and low-emission energy transition in line with the 2050 Paris Agreement. Instead of only focusing on the acceleration of renewable build up, a holistic system level thinking must be in place when investing in and planning power systems.💡 1️⃣ Enable accelerated expansion of renewables and balancing technologies to ensure affordable electricity 2️⃣ Redesign electricity markets to incentivise flexibility 3️⃣ Choose the right future proof technologies and prepare for sustainable fuels Frederic Carron, our Vice President, Middle East & Asia, Wärtsilä Energy, discusses this while highlighting the critical need for balancing power technologies in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.
