  • It’s time to take a stand – Gender-based Violence (GBV) is a universal crisis that demands our immediate attention. No one, regardless of gender, should ever have to live in fear or suffer harm because of who they are. The 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, running from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day), is a powerful global initiative that calls for an end to violence against women and girls. This is our chance to unite, speak up, and demand change. At #FCCC, we recognise and support the tireless work of women’s rights organisations and activists who are leading the charge to combat GBV. While progress has been made, we understand that the work is far from over. Each of us has a role to play in ensuring a future where everyone is safe and respected. We’re proud to have been previously recognised as the Employer of Choice for Women at the Women in Business (WIB) Awards, and we continue to work for a more inclusive and equitable world. Let’s turn our commitment into action. #SayNoToViolence and be part of the solution. #FCCC #TeamFiji #EndGBV #FijiNews #GenderEquality #HumanRights

  • FCCC CEO, Joel Abraham, participated in the 3rd RBF-ADBI-APAEA Researchers Joint Workshop held on 5th December at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva. As a discussant, Mr Abraham presented on the topic, “Effectiveness of Policies and Institutions in Influencing Inflation: FCCC's Perspective,” where he shared, Fiji’s fiscal measures implemented between 2020-2024 to tackle the economic challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and elaborated on how these policies were designed to stabilize the economy, manage inflation, and support vulnerable sectors during the crisis. The workshop brought together a diverse group of policymakers, economists, and academic researchers, all focused on exploring how evidence-based research can shape more effective and impactful policies for Fiji and the wider Pacific region. Discussions centered on the role of robust policy frameworks and institutional responses in addressing the complex economic issues faced by the region. The conference concluded with a collective commitment to fostering stronger regional collaboration. #FCCC #TeamFiji #FijiNews #Fiji

  • As we commemorate World Human Rights Day today, we reflect on the importance of human rights in addressing the pressing challenges we face. From climate change and inequality to social justice and freedom, human rights provide the foundation for building a future where dignity, respect, and equality are upheld for all people, EVERYWHERE. Now more than ever, the world needs to recognise that our rights are interconnected with the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations. Human rights are not just a set of ideals, but a call to action. They remind us that the fight for justice, equity, and human dignity is urgent. Let us, together, ensure that our rights are respected, our voices heard, and our future safeguarded—for everyone, right now and for generations to come. ✊ #FCCC #Fiji #HumanRights #EqualityForAll #FijiNews
