Based on my experience, I prioritize by setting detailed timelines that outline key deliverables and establish a sequence of responsibilities. Regular check-ins ensure teams stay aligned, and challenges are addressed promptly. Assigning clear roles helps prevent overlaps and inefficiencies. Always remain flexible, ready to adjust plans as new issues or opportunities emerge, which ensures smooth progress and the project’s overall success.

Establishing the critical delivery path as the first step is important , that would help identify the interdependcies if any and how much parallelism can be bought in . Once that CP is identified, then starts the detailed planning of the deliverables, milestones and resource planning . It is also important to ensure there is no scope creep which is not planned , impact analysis done.

Recognize that urgent tasks are not always important, and important tasks are not often urgent; categorize and sort these accordingly.Effectively managing time constraints with multiple cross-functional teams requires prioritizing high-impact tasks, breaking them into clear milestones with deadlines, and maintaining centralized communication to avoid silos. Regular check-ins ensure progress and address blockers, while contingency buffers handle unforeseen delays. Leverage tools for tracking and automation, delegate decision-making to avoid bottlenecks, and focus on tasks aligned with project goals by saying no to distractions.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. You don't need to have all the solutions, and someone closer to the problem will almost certainly have a better solution than you do. Also don't always ask for what you already know, such as confirmation of your own ideas or summary agreement on actions. This gives people an out as they tend towards 'lazy agreement' because you haven't asked them to think. Instead ask the question "What have we missed?"

It is vital to understand that not everyone is required in every single situation, this imbibe all the time we have. Dividing the team into responsible, accountable, consulted and informed is key. Other important aspect I have learned is to divide the project into smaller, time-boxed sprints (e.g., 2 weeks). Each sprint delivers a functional component of the project.
