2CRSi joins the HIGHER project to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty! 🇪🇺 We are proud to announce our participation in the HIGHER (Heterogeneous Cloud/Edge Infrastructures for Next Generation Hybrid Services) project, a major European initiative to develop 100% European processors and accelerators modules for Cloud and Edge infrastructures. The objective? Prototype and demonstrate European alternatives to proprietary solutions with open-source technologies. The project integrates ARM Rhea2, RISC-V EPAC (EPI), and RISC-V (EuPilot: Pilot using Independent Local & Open Technologies) architectures to deliver sustainable and high-performance solutions. 2CRSi will bring its expertise in modular, scalable, and high-performance servers, aligned with Open Compute Project Foundation standards. Alongside Institute of Electronic Structure & Laser (IESL) - Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, EXAPSYS Exascale Performance Systems, and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, we will help design and validate open and innovative systems for the datacenters of tomorrow. 🌱 Did you know datacenters can combine high performance with sustainability? 🔋 While datacenters are crucial for digitization, they require significant cooling to maintain optimal server operation – a need traditionally addressed with energy-intensive air conditioning. At Exaion, we believe #innovation is key to overcoming this challenge. 🏢 In EDF’s datacenters located in Noé and Pacy, Normandy, and our own Bellevue #datacenter in Sherbrooke, Quebec, we leverage advanced cooling technologies to drastically reduce energy consumption : 🔹 Air Cooling: Chillers transform rainwater into chilled water, which is distributed through the datacenter’s HVAC system, with perforated tiles enhancing airflow in cold aisles. 🔹 Water Cooling: Certain supercomputers are equipped with cold-door systems, where chilled water flows directly into the doors and fans distribute cold air onto the servers. 🔹 Immersion Cooling: Servers are immersed in a non-conductive liquid, with chilled water pumps regulating the liquid’s temperature. This approach, enabled by our partner 2CRSi, consumes significantly less energy than traditional cooling techniques.   🌡️ At our Bellevue data center, 100% of waste heat is recovered to heat buildings in the Humano District real estate project. 📩 Learn more?
