Unmanned aerial vehicles are an integral part of our society. Civilian drones have taken on a variety of tasks in all areas of life, from agriculture and rescue services to leisure activities and special tasks for authorities and organizations with security tasks. Pratt & Whitney will expand its global network of GTF engine maintenance providers to include Sanad Group, the global aerospace engineering and leasing solutions leader wholly owned by Abu Dhabi's sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company PJSC. Archer Aviation received FAA certification to launch its pilot training academy. This certification, referred to as Part 141, is granted to a flight school by the FAA, signifying that it is a formally recognized and regulated institution for pilot training. With this certificate, Archer can now train and qualify pilots as part of its newly launched training academy, with plans to build a pipeline of pilots in preparation for its planned commercial air taxis services with its Midnight aircraft. ZeroAvia agreed a deal for the first sale of its 600kW electric propulsion system to Jetcruzer International for electric flight testing to hone the design of its Jetcruzer 500E. Delivery of the development unit EPS is expected this spring. British Airways is to acquire the Boeing hangar facility and MRO business at Gatwick in a move that will secure jobs at the site and expand BA’s presence at this key airport. It will ultimately benefit BA customers by bringing additional skills, expertise and facilities into the business which will help to support the BA operation.
