BODYGUARD Project Kick-Off Meeting in Toulouse ! We are overjoyed to share that the Kick-Off Meeting for the BODYGUARD project, hosted by Agenium Space in beautiful Toulouse, was an absolute success! 🌟 The event was a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation, bringing together an incredible group of european partners, and our esteemed project officer. The atmosphere was electric as we celebrated the beginning of this groundbreaking initiative. Our project officer captured the spirit of the event perfectly: "Great success on this KoM, it is the easiest part, I wish you all the best for the rest of the project". We are more than ready to embrace the challenges ahead and turn our ambitious goals into reality. A massive thank you to Agenium Space for their outstanding hospitality and to every participant for their invaluable contributions. We are excited about the journey ahead and the incredible impact we will make together. Last week, a delegation from Unibap spent a busy few days at the International Astronautical Congress 2024 in Milan, along with more than 8000 other experts from the industry. What stood out at the congress? Below are a few of our Business Developer Josefine Nittler's main insights from the visit 👇 At this year's IAC2024, my goal was to gain deeper insights into how our space edge computer can interface with other payloads aboard satellites and understand the specific needs from the payload side. Many companies showcased advanced payload instruments generating massive amounts of data, hence demanding high data transfer rates. This, in combination with limited storage and bandwidth capacities in orbit, was a commonly recognized problem. In discussions with payload developers and satellite bus providers, the strong interest in edge data processing solutions highlighted a key takeaway: onboard data processing has moved from being a "nice-to-have" feature to a "must-have" capability for maximizing satellite performance. A particularly interesting meeting was with Charlotte Nassey and Sophia Casanova from ispace, inc., who are developing robotic lunar landers to explore the surface of the Moon. They emphasized the critical need for edge computing in their upcoming mission to enable autonomous operations and real-time data access, further underscoring the importance of this technology in next-generation space exploration. In collaboration with our good friends Agenium Space, we demonstrated the power of edge computing in space with a live demo of their ship detection app, running on our iX10 edge computer. The speed and accuracy of detection made a strong impression on the audience and illustrated how technology in action can foster greater interest and understanding. It is my pleasure to show what our PRNU/DSNU estimation software can actually do on real images push broom images, see https://lnkd.in/eb_aKPb9 . Thanks to European Space Agency - ESA and Nicolas Longépé from ESA's #Philab we have been able to develop the matrix branch of the algorithm. However we have been pushing internally to develop a push broom version. Though not 100% finished, we can show you the results obtained on the PhiSat2 first images which have been published recently, see https://lnkd.in/eB7MDKyK. What do you think of the results 😉 ? Remember that our software has produced this result with only the available sample, that is to say, there were no calibration campaign to equalize this image!
