Official visit of the Dutch Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans to Paris Minister Brekelmans visited his French colleague Minister Sébastien Lecornu in Paris. For many years, the Netherlands🇳🇱 and France🇫🇷 have worked closely together, both bilaterally and within NATO and the EU. Our friendship is of great importance for Europe's security and stability, especially in the current geopolitical context where threats are on the rise. Strengthening this cooperation 🤝 is even more important now. Besides the construction of the new Dutch submarines by NAVAL GROUP and the acquisition of Caracals by Airbus Helicopters, we need to rapidly and firmly increase military production in Europe. Besides the official bilateral consultations, Minister Ruben Brekelmans also participated in a roundtable discussion at the residence of ambassador Jan Versteeg, together with representatives of Airbus, Thales German Marshall Fund of the United States and DGA - Direction générale de l'armement. Participants underlined the innovation and production needed to keep Europe safe. And the need to break through concrete barriers to do so.
