The ANIMA Investment Network and the Euromed Clusters Forward (ECF) project gathered partners in Marseille for two days of discussions on strengthening Euro-Mediterranean value chains. Day 1, hosted at Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence, featured panels where ANIMA and ECF partners exchanges on investment trends and joint promotion strategies. Day 2, was part of risingSUD's SOFT event on enterprise transitions. Mbarka Bouaida (@Région Guelmin Oued Noun), @Jean Pierre Raffarin (Fondation Prospective & Innovation), and Tarak Chérif (@ANIMA), called for regional value chain development and joint mobilisation on climate challenges. Key insights of those two days included: 1. Integration Opportunities: Highlighted by Lilia Hachem Naas (International Trade Centre) about the enormous potential for integration between the countries of the region 2. Foreign Investments: Contributions from Radwa Kamouna from Egypt (General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Assia Ben Saad PhD from Morocco (Agence Marocaine de Développement des Investissements et des Exportations - AMDIE), Abderrezak Hammadi from Algeria (Algerian Investment Promotion Agency), and Christophe Perez of Foreign Direct Investment (Provence Promotion - the invest in Provence agency). 3. Marketing Strategies: Reinforce economic flows between Mediterranean countries from Vasso Kyrkou (Enterprise Greece SA), Atef Belkadhi jamoussi (Tunisia Investment Authority (Official Page), Nathalie Farrugia (Malta Enterprise), and Lionel Flasseur (One Provence). 4. Value Chain Positioning: by Sonia Fernández Mañas (@AMEC), Fatima-zahra El khalifa (Cluster ENR), Myriem Rachdi(@Moroccan Fashion and Denim cluster), and Hicham EL Merini (Africalink). 5. Maritime Traffic: by Hervé Martel (President of Grand Port Maritime Marseille) on how the energy transition would also transform flows between Mediterranean countries 6. Structuring Projects: by @Olivier Darrasson (@Méditerranée du Futur Investors Club) about value-sharing projects in the Southern Region, focusing on renewable energy, water, digital technologies, and the @Carbone solar panel project. 7. Policy Role: Julien C. (Ministère de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères) confirmed the importance of this issue for Union for the Mediterranean member states and presented the Maghreb Fund by Bpifrance to support French businesses in the region. Frédéric Cholé highlighted tools available to local authorities to strengthen value chains.
