🌿Khulan Conservation through Education and Community-based Conservation -Conservation Education- As part of our conservation activities in the South and Southeast regions of #Mongolia's Gobi Desert, our organization is currently developing a pack of educational activities and resources about the #Khulan and its conservation. This pack will be ready beginning of 2025 in English, Mongolian and French languages. For each donation (amount to be specified later), you will receive a copy of this Khulan Conservation educational pack. Your donation will help us print these resources and activities and donate them to Gobi schools of our project's areas. We will later adapt this educational pack to other Gobi key wildlife. 💡 The first activities of this pack are currently being tested in one school of our projects' areas. We will post some updates later. 📖 As part of this Khulan Conservation pack's resources, a brochure about the ecosystem services of the Khulan has been created. This brochure is also going to be used by our pilot school within the coming weeks and will be linked to some activities. -Local Communities involvement in Khulan Conservation- 📖The same brochure (adapted version for local communities) is also going to be first used by some of our Khulan Conservation Gobi Ambassadors to raise local awareness about the need to protect the Khulan and its habitat through environmental knowledge transfer. The brochure will be available in January 2025. For each donation (amount to be specified later) you will receive a copy of this brochure. Améliorer la protection de la population de Khulan en Mongolie (qui représente la plus grande population d'ânes sauvages d'Asie au monde), . Soutenir les projets et initiatives de conservation des communautés locales du désert de Gobi, . Sensibiliser la communauté internationale à la protection du Khulan et des pâturages du désert de Gobi, . Renforcer la coopération et les initiatives locales et internationales conjointes de conservation en vue de la protection de cette espèce et de son habitat. 🐴 Le Khulan est une espèce emblématique du désert de Gobi en Mongolie et joue un rôle essentiel dans la nature. 📚🌿#KhulanConservation through #Education A new project in progress: we are creating educational activities and resources related to conservation of the #Khulan for Middle and High school students at the schools of our conservation program's areas located in the South and Southeast regions of #Mongolia's Gobi Desert and at the schools in other regions of Mongolia. 🎯 Most of the activities we are developing will be Project Based Learning types of educational activities for now. These activities will be developed by our organization's conservation director together with a Mongolian teacher from one school located in our program's areas. ✨ The first activity is going to be tested soon in one school of the Gobi! This package of activities and resources will be then adapted for international schools worldwide, including IB Schools (MYP and IB programs). 📖 🌿 Our Dictionary for Gobi Community Conservation As we are improving our approaches towards engaging local communities in conservation of the #Khulan, other Gobi key species, and in protection of Gobi #rangelands, we created a Dictionary for Gobi Community Conservation in which we clearly defined the different roles of local communities' leaders and members that are involved and are going to be involved in our conservation program in the south and southeast regions of Mongolia's Gobi Desert, where we are working since 2008. 🌏 🌿 On November 6th will be celebrated the #EthicalConservationDay. #EthicalConservation is now an essential approach to ensure that nature conservation doesn't cause more damages than positive impacts. Ethical Conservation supports conservation activities that are ethical, equitable, and sustainable, ensuring a future where human rights, animal welfare and ecological health are connected and balanced. 🤝 An approach that at Association GOVIIN KHULAN we strongly support and are committed to use in our #Conservation practices. The #COP16Colombia has started last week, gathering world leaders, scientists, representatives of indigenous groups, civil society and experts to discuss and agree on a way to #protect the planet and achieve #PeacewithNature. This meeting follows the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework which aims to #restore 30% of the degraded terrestrial and marine ecosystems, #protect 30% of terrestrial and marine lands, #halt species extinction and #manage Human-Wildlife conflicts, and more. A very important conference to help find sustainable solutions to worldwide environmental issues. La #COP16Colombie a débuté la semaine dernière, réunissant des dirigeants mondiaux, des scientifiques, des représentants de groupes autochtones, de la société civile et des experts pour discuter et convenir d'une manière de #protéger la planète et de parvenir à la #PaixaveclaNature. Cette réunion fait suite à l'adoption du Cadre mondial pour la biodiversité Kunming-Montréal qui vise à #restaurer 30 % des écosystèmes terrestres et marins dégradés, à #protéger 30 % des terres terrestres et marines, à #arrêter l'extinction des espèces et à #gérer les conflits entre l'homme et la faune, entre autres. Une conférence très importante pour aider à trouver des solutions durables aux problèmes environnementaux mondiaux.
