À propos
Women Forward. For a Fairer Future. Chloé is a leading luxury Parisian fashion house, embodying a forward-looking yet timeless style and natural femininity. The Maison was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, an Egyptian-born Parisian who wanted to liberate women’s bodies from the stiff and formal fashion of the era through her luxury ready-to-wear offering. Since then, the Maison has entrusted a succession of emerging talents to further Aghion’s vision, including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, Hannah MacGibbon, Clare Waight Keller, Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Gabriela Hearst and the current creative director, Chemena Kamali. The Maison is committed to creating beautiful products while adopting responsible environmental and social practices. You can read more about our commitments in our Report, available on chloe.com. In October 2021, Chloé received B Corp certification, marking a new stage in the Maison’s transformation.

Chapter 6 : A dress which says "I'm nonchalant" Gaby Aghion's favorite dress was a style she designed for the Fall-Winter 1960 collection with Maxime de La Falaise, the first British woman designing for #Chloé at the time. It epitomized Gaby's new style of dress: modern and elegant. "Maxime suggested a supple jersey, like a man's pullover. Then I realized I couldn't add a lining to the sleeves and the collar with the jersey; it was too thick. Maxime went to Max on the Champs-Elysées and returned with twill fabric for ties. We lined the collar and cuffs with it. It was adorable. Ravishing. Embrun was born.” "It was very avant-garde to make a shirt dress like that, like you would design a tee shirt. Women were fighting over it. It had plenty of charm with its tie twill facings—a masculine detail on feminine clothes. I have always mixed everything together; I do this because I'm nonchalant. And this dress was tremendously successful because it says, 'I'm nonchalant.'" The legacy of our founder Gaby Aghion, and her avantgarde vision of femininity, continue to inspire #Chloé’s commitment to supporting women’s advancement. At Chloé, our people are the best ambassadors for our #WomenFoward initiatives: on October 24th, our headquarters teams in Paris welcomed 15 young women supported by our French non-profit partner Rêv’Elles. They engaged in discussions on topics such as opportunities in the fashion industry, boosting self-confidence, and understanding luxury know-how and corporate codes. On October 25th, 4 Chloé team members participated in the panel for « RVL ton potentiel » to empower 48 young women to pitch their professional projects and believe in their potential. We are very proud and grateful to our partner Rêv'Elles for providing our employees with the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogues with these bright young women each year. Chapter 5: A Hothouse for Young Talent Gaby Aghion's ready-to-wear creations resonated with the time, giving women ease and movement. To remain connected to the youthful, modern spirit she had established, she recruited many talented young designers of the day and fostered their careers. In the spirit of creative collaboration, the likes of Gérard Pipart, then Maxime de la Falaise, Christiane Bailly, Tan Giudicelli, Michèle Rosier, Graziella Fontana, and Karl Lagerfeld make their mark on #Chloé throughout the 1960s, under the artistic direction of Gaby. The Maison has since continued in this tradition, tapping a roster of emerging talents who have interpreted Gaby's legacy right up to today with the current Creative Director, Chemena Kamali.
