Being on the Construction Venture team means more than dealflow and due diligence. To realize the best outcomes for Bouygues Construction and the startups the company works with, we get out of the office to understand user needs. Our analyst Maureen BUCKET recently visited the open trench portion of a civil works project on the new Grand Paris Express.

These days every startup is looking for an added-value investor, and Construction Venture is definitely one of them! Bouygues Construction recently opened a "sandbox" construction site in suburban Paris. Scale One is open for, among other things, testing startup solutions. If you are looking for a strategic investor or partner, especially to enter the French market, this is a great entry point. See below for more information & contact info
Scale One: Innovation is on the move in construction! It has been a year since Scale One has been redefining the future of construction. How? By enabling our innovators and partners to test and adopt key innovations such as: (i) Solutions to improve timelines and optimise costs through new construction methods and industrialised processes, (ii) More sustainable materials to meet the zero carbon challenge, (iii) Advanced digital tools to manage projects with enhanced precision, (iv) Construction processes that enhance the safety and ergonomics of workers (disruptive power tools, equipment...). And this is just the beginning! It's your turn to act if you also want to: (i) Save time: our site conditions are available all year round, for real-life testing, (ii) Secure your projects in a space designed to minimise risks without impacting the productivity of your sites, (iii) Develop your teams' skills and anticipate future developments, (iv) Reduce your costs by selecting field-tested solutions. You can contact Béryl André-Hottinguer at Bouygues Construction to turn your ideas into concrete actions! 🚀 Engaging with the ConTech Ecosystem: Highlights from an Exciting Week! This month, Tim Aidan Halter, Head of Construction Venture, and Viviane André, Associate for our North American scope, had the privilege of attending the Ventures East event organized by BuiltWorlds in Boston. This was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with the construction tech ecosystem, meet innovative startups, and explore the latest advancements in ConTech. 🎤 A special shoutout to Aidan, who took part as a judge for the Demo Day competition—a fantastic way to spotlight emerging talent and groundbreaking ideas. During the same week, we visited the Reframe Systems' factory and met with Nextera Robotics for an impressive robot demo. A big thank you to both teams for their warm welcome! We were delighted to see their cutting-edge innovations. But that’s not all! We attended Suffolk Technologies' Boost Demo Day, and Bouygues Group was an official partner. We were thrilled to collaborate with them on this startup accelerator program. The ConTech space is buzzing with activity, and we’re excited to continue fostering connections, supporting startups, and driving forward innovation in construction. #ConstructionTech #Innovation #Startups #ConTech #Collaboration

Tim Aidan Halter and Stephanie Dalquist just got back from Slush, with their ConTech-related takeaways and lots of salmiakki: ☺️ DAY -1: Human experience matters! Remote control or automated operation of equipment may affect productivity, but it also means an operator gets to have lunch with the crew. 🌊 DAY 0: With CO2 assessments becoming "business as usual" with the reform of Finland's building act, the new focus is on biodiversity, climate change adaptation and the circular economy. Anecdotally, local companies in circular economy for the built environment say business is way up. 🪵DAY 1: Finland is gifted with loads of natural resources for construction, including wood. Carbon-footprint-friendly, right? However, until recently, waste has been burned, and no local recycling centers exist. Until the circular economy reaches Waste wood at scale, a lot of that material is exported for recycling elsewhere. 🔭 DAY 2: Investors ought to be taking more advantage of science-based future foresight, ("prospective" in French). A good foresight framework can identify emerging trends in the operational environment across geography and time. Indeed, Construction Venture is fortunate to be sitting right next to the foresight team of Bouygues Construction, led by Virginie Alonzi Glad to have shared the experience with other Bouygues Group colleagues including Gustavo Boriolo, Julien RIPOCHE, and Diego S. ALEGRE VEGA (EQUANS). Thanks for the takeaways, inspired by Alon Magal (Skyline Cockpit), Teemu Lehtinen (KIRAHub), Christopher Mills (Kiilto Ventures) and Arash Hajikhani (VTT)
