Last week, at the #OceanPredict Symposium in Paris 🇫🇷, our experts joined leading ocean professionals, industry representatives, and users of #OceanData 🌊 to discuss the latest advances and future developments in ocean prediction & global sustainability. The #CopernicusMarine service was highlighted in several presentations by experts from Mercator Ocean International and NOWSystems: 🔹Jean-Michel Lellouche highlighted improvements in forecast accuracy and developments across #CopernicusMarine and Mercator Ocean International systems. 🔹Gilles G. provided a global perspective on ‘blue’ and ‘white’ ocean reanalysis available in our catalogue 📔. He identified improvements in numerical models, including those for sea ice, sea surface height, sea level, and more. 🔹marie D. stressed the importance of expanding our service through co-design with users and marine and coastal experts to increase collaboration between stakeholders 🌍. 🔹Stefania A. Ciliberti underlined the future integration of #CopernicusMarine into the #EUDTO and the role of multi-model inter-comparison systems for simulating ocean physics. Overall, all speakers highlighted the contribution of our service to ocean prediction, particularly to forecasting accuracy, numerical models, and international operational oceanography.

Sentinel-1C 🇪🇺 launches in only 5️⃣ days at 10:20 CET 🛰️ Did you know that #Sentinel1 data is useful for monitoring the #Arctic❓ It helps stakeholders understand the changing Arctic environment and provides key information on sea ice to help safeguard vessels 🚢 at sea. Sentinel-1 data is integrated into different #Copernicus products which can be accessed via the #CopernicusArcticHub. #CopernicusMarine 🌊 #UseCases   The HywasPort Service is a user of Copernicus Marine data. It provided operational tools to forecast and monitor seabed disturbance and sediment transport along Latvia’s 🇱🇻 coastline   It intends to: 🔹Improve monitoring & understanding 🔹Support maritime spatial planning 🔹Assist conservation & research in #Natura2000 and protected areas   This use case has been funded by the Copernicus Marine National Collaboration Programme, developed to support EU Member States   Read more about this use case at 👇 https://lnkd.in/e8q9HMAF

#CopernicusMarine 🌊 #UseCases    The SAFEBLESS project has developed an operational service that provides high-resolution forecasts of waves, currents 〰️, temperature 🌡️, and salinity 🧂 for the #Romanian 🇷🇴 seaports of Constanta and Midia.   This service will improve situational awareness of navigational conditions for the safety of port operations and #coastal shipping 🚢    This use case has been funded by the Copernicus Marine National Collaboration Program 2021-2028.   Learn more 👇  https://lnkd.in/emb4fWsP
