🌟 Celebrating a Decade of Innovation at the The International Scientific Conference on Cultured Meat (ISCCM) 🍔 This year marks the 10th anniversary of the #ISCCM —and the event was truly epic! All the topics covered during the sessions were the perfect blend to bring the flavor of the current state of the industry 💡😋 Some of the key messages served: 🥣 As cell processes in #cellularagriculture continue to be optimized… Ellen Parker explained how improving biomass yields at small scale bioreactors first, to then automate, make continuous production and transfer the technology into large scale, is the best path to success. 🥣 During the integration of advanced #bioprocessing technologies… Sissel Beate Rønning shared a perfect example of how this allows to get in-line controls of critical components and metabolites during production. 🥣 From studies on materials and media development for cultivated meat… Anirvan Guha explained how automation and their Bayesian-based optimisation process revealed the top-performing formulations for cell line production. Michael Saad also showed how the source of vital ingredients such as FGF-2 has a strong impact on cell proliferation - highlighting that species-matched proteins are not always the most effective! The last day left us truly inspired from the emotional bites of the tasting experiences shared by Ira van Eelen, and encouraged to contribute on lowering the environmental impacts of #cultivatedmeat from the lessons shared by Hanna Tuomisto.
