SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION:   What are we doing to preserve water ? 💧   👀 First, did you know that sugar beet is composed of 75% water? An opportunity that the Cristal Union Group has decided to capitalize on! In 2000, the Group set itself the goal of using all the water naturally present in sugar beet to replace the water, needed in the production process and usually taken from the natural environment.   Thanks to the development of a virtuous circular economy scheme, water consumption has been divided by 3 between 2010 and 2024! And in 2025 all the Group’s sugar factories will be self sufficient in water, followed closely by distilleries.   "This unrivalled industrial success owes nothing to chance! By choosing our sugar and our products, our customers are making the choice with us to preserve this precious resource." Julien Coignac CSR Group Coordinator explains.   🎯 To achieve such a result, production sites have undertaken important measures to reduce water consumption and adapt industrial tools, and the Group has massively invested in water recycling, storage and treatment solutions at sugar factories and distilleries.
