🌐 Ready to move from Swift to stablecoin payments? 🌐 Fintech is at a turning point: embedding crypto and stablecoins into core services is no longer optional. It's undeniably the next big trend in finance, and no one will want to be left behind 🛤️ Stablecoin conversations have often revolved around financial services, token issuers, KYC, regulation, and liquidity, which makes sense. But surprisingly, the role of technology is often hidden or left out. As a leading wallet service serving over 40 payment service providers (PSPs) worldwide, we have a unique view of how tech is implemented, integrations are handled, and best practices are applied. We believe this behind-the-scenes insight is valuable, and we’re excited to share it to help others join the dance. Our Co-CEO, Christopher Grilhault des Fontaines, has written a practical guide with frameworks, references, and action items to help you build secure and compliant stablecoin payment flows. 📚 What you’ll learn 👇 ✅ Building the flow: Understand the step-by-step process from crypto-to-fiat conversions to settlement. ✅ Making smart choices: Whether it’s fiat-backed, crypto-backed, or algorithmic, choosing the right token for your use case is the first step. The same goes for selecting liquidity providers. ✅ Balancing act: Success depends equally on technical integration and compliance. You can delegate one, or both, or nothing. Either way, knowing what to internalize will depend on your goals. ✅ Breaking it down: Start in crypto-friendly regions, define your transaction needs, and tackle regulatory hurdles upfront. 📝 Key takeaways 👇 ✅ Pros and cons of different crypto-to-fiat conversion options, e.g. exchanges, market makers, OTC desks, banks, stablecoin issuers, or on/off ramps. ✅ How sticking to your use case can save you time, effort, and stress. ✅ How composable infrastructures future-proof your payment systems. Dfns processes over $1 billion in stablecoin transactions every month, helping PSPs run their business with no hassle. From technical challenges to regulatory roadblocks, we’ve seen it all. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns: sales@dfns.co 👉 Click here to discover the full guide: https://lnkd.in/exzqaHhY Thank you, Alex Medana, for your contributions to this post 🙏

🚨 Most wallet iframes are ticking security bombs 🚨 In the race to innovate, some wallet providers are cutting corners with dangerous iframe practices that put users' funds at risk. Dfns' security team has uncovered serious exploits and weaknesses in 3 different wallet service providers over the past 24 months (already!). These vulnerabilities are a reminder that "web3" must do better when it comes to security standards 👮♂️ 📢 At last week’s *DeFi Security Summit* in Bangkok, our Head of Security, Thibault de Lacheze-Murel, shared a critical example of the dangers embedded in iframe wallets. He presented a detailed case study on a vulnerability we discovered within the wallet iframe of a well-known decentralized derivatives exchange. 🕳️ The Exploit: In this instance, the iframe wallet exposed users to risks by leaving sensitive authorization tokens vulnerable in local storage and cookie access, meaning that the exchange could effectively reconstruct and access users’ private keys. This setup also breaks the non-custodial promise, as tokens needed to access these keys could be compromised by standard logging tools like Sentry, Datadog, and Cloudwatch. 🚩 Our Call for Prudence: The blockchain industry needs to prioritize above all user safety by learning from traditional, well-established security practices. Until DeFi platforms and tools strengthen their security frameworks, mass adoption will be limited by these trust issues. 🎤 Watch our talk for the full technical breakdown and recommended methods to protect users against iframe vulnerabilities: https://lnkd.in/eghFWiKE 🔗 Read the full blog post: https://lnkd.in/em2BTCJU

Curious about the current state of Account Abstraction? 👀 In March 2023, Ethereum introduced ERC-4337 with an ambitious vision: to shift from traditional Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs) to versatile, smart contract wallets. Back then, Ethereum developers and maximalists were quick to claim that Ethereum would become the go-to platform for everyone, with Vitalik envisioning a world running on-(his)-chain. As an offchain solution, Dfns was seen by default as a deviation from the ‘right’ path. Regardless, we embraced AA with interest, recognizing its potential and promise to transform user experience and security on Ethereum with features like multisig approvals, batch transactions, and flexible gas fees. But how has it really performed since then? In our latest blog post, *The State of AA,* co-authored by Noah Cornwell and Joshua Siegel, we take a comprehensive look at the journey of Account Abstraction, from its accomplishments to its obstacles, and what the data reveals about real adoption 🔍 While ERC-4337 has delivered notable benefits and interesting concepts, it has also faced persistent challenges such as complex integrations, high gas costs, user retention issues and more. Today, it’s safe to say that the first version of AA has failed to some degree. In response, Ethereum is preparing to pivot to EIP-7702 with the Petra hard fork, a new proposal designed to address some of ERC-4337’s most pressing limitations. Perhaps this one is the right one! 🤞 🔗 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/ezis6PK5
