As yet another year comes to a close, we take the time to reflect on the miles we walked, the people we met, and the conversations we had. As we expanded our range of natural fibers with regenerative cotton from Greece and sustainable cashmere from Mongolia, this year found us visiting new lands and discovering new cultures. Deepening our commitment to social impact, we launched a project empowering rural women—providing them with tools and opportunities to grow their independence and improve their livelihoods. We had the privilege of hearing inspiring life stories along the way, and were reminded of just how important community really is. Next year promises even more exciting journeys as we venture to the highlands of Peru to explore their unique alpaca traditions and to South Africa to learn from communities stewarding the land through ethical mohair production. We believe that we are stronger together —thank you for joining us on this journey. The NATIVA team.

Recently, our Sustainability and Sourcing team— Nicolas Sapelli, our Sourcing and Regenerative Director, Carolina Borlandelli, Sourcing and Regen Coordinator, and Candelaria Cortizas, Sustainability Coordinator—spent time in South Africa visiting farms, meeting partners, and exploring a new natural fiber to incorporate into our NATIVA programs. These were two intense weeks, where we first visited NATIVA certified farmers in different areas in South Africa, and learned about the struggles farmers need to overcome; finding ways to improve through our program. We got to know the unique beauty of their landscape, their culture and way of life, and the outstanding quality of South African wool. We were able to catch-up with farmers that are leading the way in to Regenerative practices in each area, which we are very proud to have on our NATIVA program. It was inspiring to connect with colleagues and build new partnerships as well, especially as we look into new fibers. This was a highlight of the trip, as we learnt about the amazing world of the Angora Goat and its Mohair fiber. We are very grateful for the opportunity to each person that accompanied us, and are looking forward to more collaborations to come! We would like to specially thank Anthony Kirsten Guillermo Lazarte Palao Evert Vermeulen Juan Venter Lindsay Humphreys Stephanie Kirsten Michael Brosnahan

Last week we took part of this year’s Textile Exchange conference and we thought it was a welcome time to strategically look at how we can improve and collaboratively create change; we came back with practical and specific actions, confirming we are on the right track for our wool, cashmere and cotton programs, both for farmers globally and for the environment. Beyond the learnings, we much valued meeting you in person: farmers, industry peers, customers, brand partners and leading organizations. We want to thank and praise Textile Exchange on creating a well-balanced conference between thought leadership, informational sessions, interactive panels and networking breaks. This conference was particularly emotional as we saw Natural Intelligence experts and NATIVA Regen farmers Di Haggerty and son Matthew Haggerty taking the stage to receive the Ryan Young Climate award, and working with Jeanne Carver & team on an exciting new project. We also loved listening to La Rhea Pepper’s panel on The Social Side of Regenerative Agriculture, contributing with the stories of NATIVA Regen women farmers, for both wool and cotton, coming from 5 corners of the world. Thank you for those who came by to see us, including (and certainly not limited to): Bec Hamersley, Carrie Freiman Parry, Janessa Leone, Yoann Regent, Louise Lund, Ellen Johnson, Lucía Alcover Vilanova, Nadine Cotton, Lucianne Tonti, Inka Apter, Rachel Molina, Courtney Bachmann, Erika B., Gabriele Pilger, Veera Sukumaran, Lindsay Humphreys And a heartfelt congratulations to every person taking the stage, moderators and speakers, our team divided and conquered to attend as many as possible. We are now tackling the extensive to-do list 🌱 . We look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Lanas Trinidad has been a pioneer in sustainable wool processing since the 1990s, applying circular economy principles to minimize waste, reuse resources, and reduce environmental impact. They rely on a 1,000,000 cubic meter rainwater dam to wash greasy wool, avoiding the use of city water or groundwater. Additionally, organic and biodegradable detergents are used in the scouring process. The company further exemplifies sustainability by recovering wool grease for the cosmetics industry and converting industrial effluents into renewable biogas. Their innovative approach also includes using treated water for irrigation and producing bio-fertilizers from wool dust, creating a fully sustainable production cycle. @lanastrinidad #CircularEconomy #WoolProcessing #RenewableResources #Sustainability
