According to a cross study realized by McKinsey and the World Economic Forum, it will take companies another 151 years to close the gender pay gap at all levels. 🐌 But why would it take so long ? One phenomenon explaining this is the “sticky floor”. If you do not know what it means, we’ve got you covered! Please find below our definition of the sticky floor, and why it is important. 📅 Every Wednesday, learn a new concept, expression or statistic related to diversity and inclusion with our new “Do You Speak D&I?” series! 👉 And you, did you know what “sticky floor” means? #diversity #inclusion #stickyfloor

  • 🤔 Some argue that too much emphasis on D&I can be a distraction. But a distraction from what actually? 🏛️ Well, a distraction from addressing the systemic issues that lead to inequality and discrimination, to be precise! Indeed, to really understand diversity and inclusion at work, we sometimes have to take a step back to comprehend the structural issues that are in place. Today, we’re really happy to focus on the concept of systemic discrimination, and explain its main consequences in the workplace! 🔎 According to the Council of Europe, systemic discrimination involves the procedures, routines and organisational culture of any organisation that, often without intent, contribute to less favourable outcomes for minority groups than for the majority. 📅 Every Wednesday, learn a new concept, expression or statistic related to diversity and inclusion with our new “Do You Speak D&I?” series! 👉 And you, did you know what “Systemic Discrimination” means? #diversity #inclusion #systemic #discrimination
