À propos
EMBRC a research infrastructure that accelerates marine biology and ecology research in Europe. Through a network of 80 marine sites across Europe, we provide access to marine biodiversity and ecosystems, services and expertise, to help researchers from academia and industry study the ocean's biodiversity and ecosystems to speed up discoveries and develop innovative solutions to societal issues. EMBRC fills gaps in ocean observation data through EMO BON (European Marine Omics Biodiversity Observation Network), the first coordinated long-term genomic biodiversity observatory in Europe that studies marine life using DNA techniques. This project aims to reinforce the global ocean observation network and supports the UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development through the OBON programme. In the face of global environmental challenges, EMBRC promotes global science-based decision-making to support a sustainable blue economy and help tackle issues worldwide. The organisation is part of the ESFRI roadmap and operates under the legal status of a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), granted by the European Commission.
