The AI Action Summit in Paris closed yesterday night. Electric energy, countless talks about AI’s transformative potential, and Europe shifting from regulation-first to innovation-first in a welcomed mindset change: ✨ AI is a 10x game-changer to most industries, reshaping business models profoundly. 🇺🇸 US vice president J.D. Vance loudly called EU leaders to “look to this new frontier with optimism rather than trepidation” and detailed the US’ extremely voluntarist agenda for AI. He insisted that AI will be the largest job-creating tech in decades. 🇪🇺 EU leaders finally acknowledged there is more opportunity than risks. Big announcements were made: 109Bn€ from France into AI infrastructure; 150Bn€ by a group of investors for startups, topped by 50Bn€ from the EU (of a total package of 200Bn€); and 2.5Bn€ for “Current AI” initiative (AI for public interest). At Entropia, we’re cautiously optimistic these announcements will be enacted. It’s urgent. Europe has AI talent but lacks a full ecosystem (chips, infrastructure, models, applications, distribution). To turn all these billions into global AI leaders, we must build a unified EU market (a vision we also support through The EU Inc Petition). We’ve named it “Shannon”, honoring Claude Shannon : the father of information theory whose groundbreaking work on entropy revolutionised how we understand data compression and communication efficiency until today. 2024 was Entropia's first year. What a journey ! - 🤗 We went from 2 to 3 cofounders, and signed 2 first talents joining us in the coming weeks. - ✨ We developed cutting-edge unstructured data processing and information extraction pipelines, and launched the V1.0 of "Documentalist". - 📝 We signed our first customers in Tax Advisory, Legal, Consulting, Finance, Health. - 💸 We secured funding from top-tier funds (FR, US), business angels, and BPI France. - 🤖 We designed a scalable private GPU infrastructure via a 3-year deal with Scaleway, and also invested in local GPUs for R&D. - 🏠 We moved from a small studio to offices rue Auber (next-door to OpenAI), and we will move again in a couple of weeks to inaugurate La Maison (by Motier Ventures). Productivity boost x1000 for medical research use case : 🤝 Three years of manual data entry now completed in just one day. This is the remarkable achievement Entropia has accomplished in partnership with the MAGE-X Medical AI spine surgeons consortium. 📊 We restructured thousands of patient records, automatically extracting 40 key data points from each file (such as pathology, medical history, treatments, complications, pain scores, etc.) to create a comprehensive database. 💡 On the LLM side, the technical challenge was twofold: first, designing an evaluation loop to measure the quality of predictions at each iteration cycle. Second, gathering user feedback (validations/corrections) and leveraging it to refine future predictions. 📅 This work was presented at the annual SOFCOT (French Society of Orthopedic and Traumatological Surgery) conference, held from November 11-13, where it received great acclaim from the profession. The MageX team is looking forward to initiating numerous scientific collaborations soon. 🎯 This project is a powerful example of our mission to augment collective intelligence!
