European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterial — New endovascular technologies, from bench to clinical practice

À propos

The European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterials – ESVB – is the biggest biannual event in Europe dedicated to biomaterials applied to vascular and endovascular surgery. It was established in 2001 in Mulhouse out of the will of Pr. Nabil Chakfé & Pr. Bernard Durand to gather worldwide and renowned scientist, surgeons, radiologist, industries, start-ups and everyone involved in the research and the use of biomaterials in the vascular and endovascular field. This symposium aims to not only promote knowledge exchange, but also to develop a multidisciplinary approach, that we believe is essential, by creating an interactive platform that should allow us to have productive exchanges and promote durable future collaboration. Since its first edition, the ESVB meeting engaged with the hottest topics in the sector, including the fundamental researches on biomaterials, the influence of prosthesis surface treatment, the connection of biomaterials to arterial structures, and the laparoscopy & robotic anastomosis. In 2017, for its 10th edition, the plenary sessions focused on 4 different themes from the durability of vascular and endovascular devices, to the expert updates on the latest endovascular technologies, passing through the latest trends in per-operative imaging technologies as well as tissue, plaque and vessel wall properties and endovascular technologies. Since 2015, this event is accompanied by satellite event focusing on last trends in the field. In 2017, these satellite events tackled actual themes in the field of vascular biomaterials and led some new projects in the communities: Endovascular Simulation Surgery Bootcamp, Medical Textile Symposium, Radiation Safety Workshop and Vascular Tissue Biobanking.
