📣 How to identify reliable data 👀 Not all manufacturers self-assess their products. Many prove product performance via third-party laboratory testing or certification schemes. For instance, independent laboratories are often at the forefront of product testing, using the latest technologies and test methodologies to calculate accurate actual performance. Independent laboratory testing ensures: 🔹Manufacturers have no control over the testing process 🔹Products are evaluated under a standardised test procedure 🔹Bias in the testing routine is greatly reduced. 💡To guarantee product performance, certification offers all the benefits of independent laboratory testing and adds in additional levels of evaluation, including: 🔹Independent factory audits to ensure production line quality 🔹Software checks/software certification 🔹Validation of the technical credibility and continuity of all submitted data (including marketing materials) 🔹Plus, certified products enter an ongoing surveillance process. 📊 Additionally, certification removes direct contact between manufacturer and laboratory, offering true impartiality. Therefore, certification is often used as an identifier of high performing products. 📣 SEER & SCOP: Your Guide to Understand Energy Efficiency Ratings Ever wondered what those SEER and SCOP ratings mean on your HVAC system? Let's break it down! ❄️ SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) are crucial metrics that help measure the real energy efficiency of heating and cooling systems throughout the year - not just at a single point in time. 💡 With 30 years of experience in certifying HVAC products, we've seen how these metrics have revolutionised the industry and driven innovation towards more sustainable solutions. 🔎 Want to become an energy efficiency expert? Read our comprehensive guide to understand: 🔹 How SEER and SCOP are calculated 🔹 Why seasonal measurements matter 🔹What these ratings mean for your energy bills 🔹 How they support the EU's Ecodesign Directive 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-C4Y_Me 🗨 Do you use energy efficiency ratings when selecting HVAC equipment? #EnergyEfficiency #SEER #SCOP #Sustainability #Certification #EuroventCertification

🏢 Understanding Air Handling Units: More Than Just Temperature Control 💡Did you know that we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors? While many of us worry about outdoor air pollution, indoor air quality is an equally critical concern. In fact, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ranks it among their top five environmental risks! 🔍 What exactly is an Air Handling Unit (AHU), and why should you care? An AHU is no longer just about maintaining thermal comfort. Modern units are sophisticated systems designed to: 🔹 Filter air quality 🔹 Control humidity 🔹 Ensure proper ventilation 🔹 Protect our health in indoor environments 🏭 As awareness of indoor air pollution grows, so does the need for energy-efficient solutions. Choosing the right AHU isn't just about performance – it's about making a smart, sustainable choice for your building. 📣 The Impact of Underperformance on Green Credentials 💡 Energy efficiency plays a significant role in reaching sustainability goals. When performance data is inaccurate, the system may end up consuming more energy than expected over its life cycle. This product underperformance can crush a system's green credentials as underperforming products will: 🔹 Compensate by using more energy 🔹 Create a larger carbon footprint 🔹Negatively impact on the performance and energy consumption of other parts of the system 🔹 Incur much higher running costs. 🔍 Crucially, even a slight underperformance can have a big impact over the lifecycle of the product and can lead to substantial cost increases over time. This means that any benefit from installing a cheaper product can be made redundant by the additional ongoing energy costs. ⚠️ Additionally, failure to accurately assess environmental impact can lead to missed sustainability goals and obligations. This can be disastrous in projects aiming to achieve green building certifications, such as BREEAM, NABERS and LEED. ❓ Want to find out more? 📖 Our new white paper examines underperformance in the European refrigeration industry.
