🆕 Appointment | We are delighted to announce the appointment of Frédéric GICQUEL Vice-President Middle-East for the Energy Division of Fives! In this role, Frédéric will lead the development of Fives’ cryogenic and combustion activities in the Middle East. He has worked in the region for over 10 years, and has developed a keen understanding of the challenges of this market. He will be key to ensure that Fives’ technical solutions meet the local requirements and support the decarbonization ambitions of the region. Frédéric joined Fives in 2015, when the Group bought over ECL Services Middle East, where he was the Managing Director. In 2018, he was appointed CEO of Fives Service Gulf in Bahrain, covering the whole Gulf region, as part of Fives - Aluminium. 🆕 Tube & Pipe | High-performance OTO tube mills for the renewable energy market. METALOGALVA has recently strengthened its long-standing partnership with Fives to produce high-performance tubes for the renewable energy and structural markets. The scope of the project included the design, supply and commissioning of two OTO tube mills and a high-speed OTO cut-off for its MSS Steel Tubes production subsidiaries in Portugal and the USA. The first tube was successfully produced at the Memphis plant in the USA in November 2024, marking an important milestone. “Our long-term partnership with Fives led us to choose again its fully automated solutions to achieve maximum productivity and ensure high-quality standards. The collaboration between the teams has been excellent – from sales, project management, commissioning and after-sales, and we are proud to have delivered another successful project together,” says Nuno Guimarães, Purchase & Logistic HoA at Metalogalva. 🆕 Fives, a worldwide leader in industrial engineering, and ArianeGroup an industrial leader in civil and military space launchers, have signed a memorandum of understanding to drive the mobility of the future. The alliance of both technological leaderships, Fives, in cryogenics, and ArianeGroup, in liquid hydrogen propulsion systems, will enable the design of a range of pumps to transport liquid hydrogen efficiently, reliably and on a large scale. Hydrogen is key to decarbonize heavy mobility but today, there are no solutions on the market to efficiently transfer it. This range of pumps will play an essential role in the distribution value chain: from the production site to the filling stations, and then from the vehicles’ tanks to the propulsion system.
