[#FOWT #MONITORING] 📅 Save the date | Webinar – 10 December, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (CET) ❔ One of the major challenges therefore lies in the ability to assess the actual state of fatigue of the structures, and to identify any potential anomalies. This was the aim of the #DIONYSOS R&D project, which uses a methodology based on the concept of a digital twin - in other words, a virtual replica of a physical system - to simulate, analyse and optimise its performance in real time. This webinar will focus on the main outputs of the project useful and usable for the sector. ✒️ Register now: https://lnkd.in/ea677Qi7 💬 The webinar will be chaired by Romain RIBAULT, and 4 other high level panellists will give detailed speech: Cesar Aguilera, Jérôme de Lauzon, Adrien Hirvoas, and Manuel Fernández Pérez. 🔎 Know more about the webinar programme: https://lnkd.in/eFYJ-iSg #floating #wind #turbines #monitoring #digitaltwin #sensors #simulations #deeplearning Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, IFP Energies nouvelles, INNOSEA, IMT Atlantique, Saipem, Sercel, Shell, Université Gustave Eiffel

[#H2 #OFFSHORE #WIND] 💬 On 5 November, Subsea7 7 hosted the progress meeting of the #OPHARM2 R&D project which focuses on the production of hydrogen at sea from offshore wind turbines. The main achievements that fuelled the discussions were: ✔️ Assessment of the potential for hydrogen production from offshore wind turbines on the French mainland coast. ✔️ Preliminary design of an offshore electrolysis system, in centralised mode (electrolyser + substation) and decentralised mode (electrolysers + wind turbines). ✔️ Associated hydrodynamic simulations to assess electrolyser motions for centralised and decentralised configurations, in southern Brittany and western Norway. ✔️ A literature review of the environmental impacts of hydrogen production at sea and the definition of experimental protocols for laboratory studies on 4 indicator species in the trophic chain. 📽️ Want to understand in less than 3 minutes what the project is about? Watch the video pitch: https://lnkd.in/ek48V8YU 🤝 Led by France Énergies Marines, #OPHARM2 brings together 17 other partners: Capenergies, EDF, EIFER - European Institute for Energy Research, FARWIND ENERGY, GHyGA, Persee, Pôle Mer Méditerranée, RWE, Shell, Skyborn Renewables, SOFRESID ENGINEERING, Subsea7 7, TotalEnergies, Toulouse INP, Aix-Marseille University, Université de Bretagne Occidentale, Valeco EnBW. ➕ The project is supported by #France2030, Région Bretagne, Région Pays de la Loire, OCCITANIE and Région Sud - Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. #offshore #wind #hydrogene #electrolyseur #motion #environment

🎥 [#Pitch] The #BAMOS research project aims to enhance our understanding of the short and long-term behaviour of synthetic polyamide 6 (nylon) fibres under tension when used as permanent moorings for floating wind turbines. Laure COSSALTER, Project Manager at France Energies Marines, explains the challenges faced by the sector and how the #BAMOS project addresses these issues. 🎯 Key objectives: 🔹 Provide insights into the fatigue response of these moorings to better predict their lifespan. 🔹 Deepen understanding of degradation mechanisms and damage in marine environments. 👉 Watch the interview to learn more about this innovative project: ⏩ English : https://lnkd.in/ehWNebqd ⏩ French : https://lnkd.in/ejdZhrgS ENSTA Bretagne, Atlantique Offshore Energy, BEXCO N.V./S.A. , Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, EDF, RWE, Saipem, Shell, Skyborn Renewables, Université Gustave Eiffel, Valeco #floating #offshore #wind #polyamide #ropes #elongation #tension #mooring

[#PUBLICATION] Quentin Hamard, PHAM Minh Tan, Dorian Cazau and karine Heerah just published an open source article in the journal Ecological Informatics about a deep learning model enabling to detect and classify multiple marine mammal species from passive acoustic data. 📌 Read the article : https://lnkd.in/e5Wchn2k ➡️ This study introduces a promising object detection model specifically tailored to the detection and classification of marine mammal sounds over a wide frequency range. Compared with manual analysis, this model facilitates the monitoring of marine mammal species, especially in the assessment of their occurrence and behavioral patterns around offshore wind farms. This work was carried out as part of the #OWFSOMM project which focused on the standardisation of tools and methods for monitoring marine megafauna in offshore wind farms ➕ Learn more about the project: https://lnkd.in/eMfPY89V IRISA - Institut de Recherche en Informatique et Systèmes Aléatoires, UNIVERSITE DE BRETAGNE SUD, Centre d'Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive, CNRS, ENSTA Bretagne, La Rochelle Université, WIPSEA, EDF Renouvelables, GIS Eolien en Mer, OW Ocean Winds, RWE, Ifremer, CESIGMA, Les Éoliennes en Mer Services #deeplearning #acoustics #passiveacoustics #megafauna #marinemammals

🌊 [#Floating #Offshore #Wind] On November 13th, a follow-up meeting brought together the partners of the #BAMOS project, dedicated to studying the behaviour and ageing of synthetic ropes made from polyamide 6 (nylon). This multi-partner research project aims to: ✔️ Enhance the rheological model of the 1D behavioural law for polyamide 6 rope ✔️ Develop a 3D mesoscopic model to understand energy dissipation mechanisms within twisted rope ✔️ Characterise degradation mechanisms of synthetic ropes in marine environments 💡 Key discussions focused on: 🔹 Progress in Juliette Laurent's thesis, particularly her work on identifying the parameters of the #POLYAMOOR law using long-term creep data. 🔹 Planning a testing campaign to identify parameters influencing the fatigue lifespan of polyamide, with deformation monitoring via image correlation analysis. 🔹 Scheduling tests on ropes dismantled in June 2024 from the #MONABIOP demonstrator to characterise marine degradation processes. A big thank you to all the committed partners contributing to the success of the #BAMOS project. 🔎 Know more about the project: https://lnkd.in/eUdayBap ENSTA Bretagne, Atlantique Offshore Energy, BEXCO N.V./S.A. , Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, EDF, RWE, Saipem, Shell, Skyborn Renewables, Université Gustave Eiffel, Valeco #floating #offshore #wind #polyamide #ropes #demonstrator #elongation #tension
