Natural molecule discovery, industrialized
À propos
Natural products have contributed more than 500 molecules to pharmaceuticals. However, conventional methods for discovering new natural products are increasingly ineffective. Generare has developed a revolutionary platform that identifies and expresses a wide range of naturally occurring secondary metabolites, selected by millions of years of bacterial evolution. This platform allows us to reintroduce these lead molecules into clinical pipelines, reopening a validated avenue for therapeutic innovation.

The news is out! We’re thrilled to announce Generare has raised €5 million in Seed funding to take our drug discovery platform to the next level. Natural products hiding in bacteria are our best shot at finding the next generation of medicines – they’ve led to 500+ drugs already, and are 100x more likely than plants and chemicals to get approved. Yet finding them remains a significant global challenge. At Generare, we’re building a platform that is not only reopening this critical avenue of drug discovery, but can do so at scale; leveraging decades of research from our award-winning team. We’ve already identified 100+ previously unknown molecules (and counting); we’ve signed our first pilot with AUROBAC THERAPEUTICS; and been recognised by a number of industry bodies over the past year alone. Today’s announcement of our Seed funding is the icing on the cake 🎂 Not only because it validates our mission and ambition, but because our new investors – Teampact.ventures, Galion.exe, VIVES Partners, SynBioVen, Saras Capital, Better Angle – bring a wealth of expertise that will now help us take this mission forward. Thanks to Natasha Lomas for covering our journey on TechCrunch, and to all of our team and partners that have been a part of this journey so far! We’re excited to take things to the next level in the weeks, months and years to come. Read the full announcement here : https://lnkd.in/exxfpFiA #biotech #innovation #drugdiscovery #naturalproducts

I am thrilled to share a new milestone in Generare's journey! We have closed a €5M funding round, led by Teampact.ventures, Galion.exe, and VIVES Partners, to scale up our platform for discovering natural molecules from microorganisms. Nature holds treasures in the form of natural molecules, selected by evolution over millions of years. Thanks to Generare's technology, we systematically explore this wealth to transform the way we develop the medicines of tomorrow. I am proud and excited to be on this adventure with Vincent Libis, Baudoin Delépine, Héloïse G., Oriane Monet, Nadège Guinot, Baptiste F., Bismarck Olympio, Humbeline Paupelin (Vaucelle), GUIDO RODRIGO, Hugo Boutonnet, Anne-Camille Renaudeau, Charlotte Thiola, and Grace K. For the past two years, we have been working together to scale up this approach, inspired by Vincent's brilliant research. A big thank you to everyone who is a part of this adventure! Thanks Natasha Lomas of TechCrunch for covering our journey! https://tcrn.ch/3ZS9nr1
