In hospitality, whatever you do, you must anticipate - anticipate new expectations, new constraints, new ways of meeting new challenges - and you must seize opportunities. A striking example of this is the current #rebranding of a former ibis into the Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacré Coeur, due to open in June 2024.

📍As Paris is gearing up to host the Olympic Games this summer, so is the Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacré Coeur. This mid-scale hotel has a lot going for it, starting with its location in an iconic district of #Paris: near the Moulin Rouge, at the foot of the Butte Montmartre - home to the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and the Place du Tertre, with its 140 painters and portraitists – and with easy access to all Paris landmarks and shopping areas.

The initial decision to invest on this ageing ibis was made in October 2019, just before the pandemic; it was confirmed after the health crisis, and a design contest - won by Giros & Coutellier in July 2022 - marked the real starting point.
The construction works have been going on since late 2022, the idea being to preserve the facade while breathing new life into, literally, everything else, under the banner of the #Mercure brand.

✨The designers are creating the hotel’s unique atmosphere through spacious, welcoming common areas spiced with a collection of miniatures, including planes, trams, boats, and vintage cars. The 51 rooms are personalized with small, free-standing furniture, ideal for trendy staging over time.
All decisions – from the backstage works to the most visible equipment – have taken into account two complementary objectives: to offer unique amenities while meeting high-level #ESG criteria, based on #circularity, practicality, and overall #sustainability.
Today, approximately 4 months before opening, we’re on track and going for ambitious certification goals:
Alliance HQE - GBC Excellent (High Environmental Quality, for which the conception phase has already been validated),
Effinergie Renovation Label (for the building’s energy performance),
Green Key International certification.
📅The official acceptance of works is planned for late May 2024, and the hotel will officially open in June 2024.
