In this edition of the ICC Dispute Resolution Bulletin: The Bare Minimum: Cost-Efficient Awards for Disputes of Small– and Medium–Sized Enterprises 🏢 This much-awaited multijurisdictional study, led by Professor George A. Bermann and Andrés Jana, explores the minimum requirements that domestic laws impose on the content of awards as efforts are developed to enhance the efficiency of drafting awards. Reflecting the views of respondents from 41 jurisdictions, the research concludes that there are opportunities to make arbitration more affordable for SMEs, but also identifies the potential risks associated with them. 2024: A Milestone Year for ICC Advanced Arbitration Academies 🌐 This year has been nothing short of amazing for the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academies, with several exciting milestones achieved. In May, we launched the Academy for Africa and the Academy for the Middle East, which was followed by the successful conclusions of the Academy for Asia in July, Eastern Europe in October, and Latin America in November, and North America in December 🙌 The ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy 2024 Programme in numbers 📊: 🔹 6 Academies in 5 continents 🗺️ 🔹 33 Workshops 🎓 🔹 20 Host Cities 🏙️ 🔹 109 Expert Speakers from diverse and varying jurisdictions 🎙️ 🔹 204 Participants from across the globe 🌍, hailing from 🔹 69 Countries 🌏, and combining 🔹 62 Nationalities 🌐. The new ICC Hearing Centre has officially opened 🏢 The new ICC Hearing Centre will serve as the ideal venue for all arbitration and ADR hearings, regardless of their institutional setting.
