What a start to the MarineMax Superyacht Division's Video Production Team! What could be better than filming the awe-inspiring 97 meter Lürssen "Carinthia VII" at the MYBA The Worldwide Yachting Association Charter Show in Genoa (actually, filming "Carinthia VII" in the Bahamas would have been significantly better...but you know what I mean). Fraser Yachts Charter Manager Daniela De Marco was a little nervous about being filmed, but once she started showing me the yacht she soon forgot about the camera crew and gave a fantastic tour. CARINTHIA VII (97m) has won a Neptune at the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards! “We are delighted with the results in Venice at the World Superyacht Awards with CARINTHIA VII coming out on top in the ‘Refitted Yachts’ category,” says Alberto Perrone Da Zara, Sales Director Yacht Refit at Lürssen. “A refit is not just about necessary maintenance, it can also be a way to completely transform a yacht. We enjoy it when owners come to us with complex refit projects to solve, and I am proud that the work the team has done with CARINTHIA VII can now be named award-winning.” Lürssen completed the refit of CARINTHIA VII in a compressed 300-day period, converting the vessel from private to commercial use in time for the 2023 summer season. Key new features include an 11m swimming pool and a state-of-the-art gym. We would like to congratulate all the partners involved in the project, especially the Italian design studio that spearheaded the interior and exterior design transformation, Bizzozero Cassina Architects, and the owner’s representatives from RYacht Management. “When we delivered CARINTHIA VII nearly twenty years ago, we knew we had built a special yacht,” says Peter Lürßen. “Yet, as CARINTHIA VII was a private vessel for nearly two decades, she remained a mystery for most of the world. This changed following the refit and interior redesign we completed last year. We are very, very grateful to her new owner who has started this journey to create a second and exciting life for CARINTHIA VII.
