As we prepare for the 25th Anniversary of our revered Medical Academy, we're looking back at our last milestone year; our 20th IAG Academy taking place in April 2019 in Cairo, Egypt. Our Academies, which bring together the rising stars of the industry, allow the network to share their experiences, solve challenges and learn from each other. Now also supported by an ongoing programme of e-Learning and our popular EduTours, Academy participants have the opportunity to learn real-life skills while benefitting from a fantastic shared knowledge-base. This learning forum also creates an another opportunity in the year to connect and collaborate in person with their global counterparts. #ThrowbackThursday

Local Partners, Global Solutions Founded in 1992, International Assistance Group (IAG) was originally created by five European companies seeking to help one another provide high-quality services. Considerable growth over the past 30 years means that we are now the world’s largest alliance of independent assistance companies and accredited providers. Our Partners and Accredited Service Providers deliver medical, travel, roadside, home assistance, and security amongst other services in over 200 countries across all five continents. The IAG Head Office, based in Paris France, oversees the coordination of the network and offers affiliates operational support to enhance their competitiveness in their own markets, along with an internationally recognized accreditation and optimized marketing benefits. Our in-house biannual Forums offer a unique opportunity for representatives from IAG companies to meet face-to-face, discuss best practices and latest innovations, exchange know-how and strengthen business relationship with industry peers. In addition, the IAG Academy, our annual training school provides assistance coordinators and supervisors from around the world an exclusive learning experience where participants discuss real-life case studies and exchange insights on operational procedures. These three dedicated knowledge-sharing events are key to helping one another advance and be competitive in today’s fast changing world. We continue to build, recruit and train a comprehensive global network of quality assistance experts and best-in class Accredited Service Providers worldwide via our accreditation programme. Each year, IAG Partners collectively handle over 10 million cases, cover 500 million end users, manage over 2 million roadside cases and conduct more than 30,000 medical repatriations bringing sick and injured travellers home. Seeing the incredible advancements and innovation in health tech coming through at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is always an inspirational start to our year. And the highlights from the 2025 show earlier this month didn't disappoint. Wearable health tech continues to grow in popularity, but now can provide new insights such as how your body is responding to heat, which could reduce the risk of heat stroke or hypothermia. Every day health check-ins may be made possible by a mirror providing your vital statistics, and could injections soon be possible using needle-less technology? Our favourite round-up of healthcare tech from CES 2025 is linked in the comments ⬇️

Many of you will know we have been supporting Adaptive Adventurer Darren Edwards as he and his team as they work towards an incredible goal of completing a Sit Ski expedition in the South Pole at the end of this year. Here, Darren shares the background and the 'why' behind the expedition which is in aid of the incredible charity Wings for Life - Spinal Cord Research Foundation.
❓Why the South Pole? In December, we head to Antarctica not just to reach a destination, but to provide hope to those living with Spinal Cord Injury that there will be a cure thanks to the work of Wings for Life - Spinal Cord Research Foundation and the 324 research projects it finds globally. It is for individuals like Casey, Philip, and Ben that our team is heading for the South Pole - not just a certificate which says ‘World Record’ 🙏 Thank you to our sponsors British Airways Team Forces Canada Goose Procter & Gamble Wellspect HealthCare Victrex Tikehau Capital International Assistance Group Mavin Powercube Ideal Matthew Johnathan Biggar Emma Hind #redefiningimpossible #redefiningadventure #wingsforlife #spinalcordinjury #hope #adversity #disability #expedition

Last week saw the annual CES (Consumer Electronic Show) take place in Las Vegas. With a huge focus on AI across all areas, it was no surprise that this was a dominant theme when it came to mobility. Emerging trends include autonomous technologies being integrated into labour-intensive industries using machinery such as tractors, and further advances in e-bikes. When it comes to road safety, AI still takes centre stage when it comes to automated controls and obstacle detection. Displays and in-car experiences were in the spotlight, with the ‘heads up’ display being taken to the next level with one OEM showcasing panoramic systems that will ‘learn’ driver habits and make personalised recommendations for a more enjoyable, and potentially safer, drive. Here’s a great write up with more detail: https://lnkd.in/ebyD2U_S
