On Oct. 16th our CEO Francesco Manegatti, PhD attended the #PICSummitEurope in Eindhoven. He pitched our unique approach to optical interconnects in front of a great audience of investors, executives and players of the photonic industry. With the explosion of #AI, data exchange and #networking among (and within) compute nodes of #supercomputers have become crucial. Even inside #processors, every mm of copper matters to deliver the required bandwidth! But when it comes to scale those architectures and extend the #reach from few mm to multiple cm to interconnect more dies, copper hits a wall. European research institutions have a tremendous potential when it comes to Deeptech technologies. Particularly in France, the presence of a world-class pool of talents, wonderful facilities and a great support from the government make kind of straightforward the valorisation of many years of research through startup creation. Those are amongst the reasons why, at the end of my PhD at C2N - Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies, in 2020, I decided to deep dive into the project NcodiN: our unique optical technology has been matured over more than 15 years of research, and it is now ready to ramp up through to industrialization and commercialization. Today #NcodiN is not just a project anymore: in the space of slightly more than a year, we have created the company, closed a 3.5M€ round and our team will count 15 talents in October. Time runs really fast!
