📌 🗓️ The #WISTAR Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) consortium : NEAC-INDUSTRY, CIRCOÉ, Multitel LOGISTICS IN WALLONIA, VSL NRW gathered in #Duisbourg on 19-20 September for the 1st Executive Committee meeting hosted by a lead partner Universität Duisburg-Essen, (specialized department in #logistics and transportation), for project management session, progress update on activities & enriching visits with the associated partners supporting a #German pilot for promoting #Sustainable #Waterway #Transport for Rural Business. These two days were packed with transnational exchanges to explore the advancements in waterborne transport, full #automation capability, #multimodal logistics concepts, #handling technologies, and to identify the commercial potential insights into the feasibility of using inland waterways for small rural businesses in northwestern #Germany. 💡 #WISTAR partners express heartful thanks to Cyril Alias & Lea Corbeck for discovering an impressive research capability of DST - Entwicklungszentrum für Schiffstechnik und Transportsysteme e. V. including: -       Maneuvering Model Test Basin (25 metre long) to conduct a wide variety of experiments on shipping and logistics operations in shallow waters -       a miniature handling equipment: the scaled system replicates the real system -       a ship models to simulate the container inland vessels -       a boat crew training simulator -       a control station for automated ship, and for remotely control operations with3Dcapable-projectors for environment representation 🔎 Further appreciation is owed to kioske GmbH company, Thorsten Jander for presentation an automated vending machines and configurable pick-up stations for supporting #rural #businesses (#agriculture). 🚀 Kick-off du projet #normand #CyberNEAC La semaine dernière, le consortium constitué de NEAC-INDUSTRY, 6cure  & Greyc Université de Caen Normandie en présence de la Région Normandie, s’est réuni à la pépinière d'entreprise nautique (NORLANDA) à #Caen pour le lancement du projet de première collaboration #CyberNEAC. Ce projet labelisé par le Pôle TES, est soutenu/financé par la Région Normandie à travers son dispositif de soutien à l’#innovation en collaboration et cofinancé par l’#Union européenne avec le fonds #européen de développement régional (#FEDER). 🎯 Le consortium vise à concevoir une solution de #cyber #protection des architectures de #communications de bout en bout dans un #navire, en proposant une offre qui augmente la #sécurité au niveau comportemental des navires contre des #attaques ayant un impact sur la #sûreté. Le service rendu est celui de l’intégrité de la #navigation. 💡 Le laboratoire Greyc se chargera de la recherche sur l’analyse comportementale pour la #détection et la #prédiction des #cyberattaques et la conception d'un système pour contrer les attaques et les scenarios de #menaces identifiés. 💡 6cure étudiera la #protection des attaques contre le déni de services portées par les échanges entre le #bateau et l’extérieur. 💡 NEAC-INDUSTRY testera sur sa #plateforme d'expérimentation les parades aux diverses tentatives d’attaques et d’agressions #cyber. This week NEAC team welcomed #WISTAR Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) project partners for the #Workshop meeting in #Caen. With the important and fruitful discussions around the action plan and implementation the Proof of the Demonstrator concept. French showcase focuses on connecting the port of #Ouistreham to #Caen's city center through 15 km #canal with a particular attention on transporting fish and scallops by NEAC's test platform equipped with an innovative electric motor, monitoring and measurement solution for the energy consumption. The carbon impact obtained by carbon-free #transport and the costs reduction thanks to #automation will be studied. Last delivery mile distribution of seafood products to the local restaurants will be ensured by an electric cargo-bike equipped with a temperature control system. This practical study will offer insights into sustainable changes in #urban #logistics #chain, the feasibility of using shallow inland waterways for small urban businesses, discovering a new sector of urban logistic flow and sustainable #inlandwaterway transportation. 🚀 The new Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) Programme was kicking off 32 projects approved in Call 2 et 3 at the Regional Council in #Lille, Région Hauts-de-France, on the 14th and 15th of February. #WISTAR one of the winners in Call 3 as a Small Scale Project, among the 11 small projects in category of Smart & Energy Transition, over the next 18 months. Project title is Waterways for Green Inland Sustainable Transport and Rural businesses. 💡 The main challenge of #WISTAR is the promotion of energy efficiency & the reduction of greenhouse emissions in the NWE area with dense urban-rural linkages (in FR, BE, DE). #WISTAR will implement a concept of an intermodal transportation chain (Green Supply Chain) for small urban rural businesses. The goal is to create a transportation system that is not only economically viable but also environmentally responsible & enhancing energy efficiency. 🚀The new #HorizonEurope project FOREMAST officially kicked-off 30 & 31 January in #Brussels, Belgium with 30 participants representing the European inland waterway sector. Lead by INLECOM Group, the consortium of 16 partners from 9 countries will focus on promoting sustainable transport solutions in urban and coastal areas over the next 36 months. 💡FOREMAST project addresses the urgent need for cleaner logistics by developing Automated, Small, Flexible, and Zero-Emission prototype vessels known as ‘SFAZ’. NEAC-INDUSTRY is proud to join a FOREMAST european consortium to contribuate in developing of cutting-edge model vessel which aims to transform urban and coastal logistics, reducing road congestion, lowering emissions, and enhancing overall accessibility. ❗Being the partner of WP3 driven by Peter Geirnaert ( Living Lab 1, #Ghent (BE)), NEAC-INDUSTRY with ABB Marine & Ports will run the tests in Living Lab 2 à #Caen (FR) in real-life environment, validate technological solutions and innovations which are being developed in WP1 et WP2 utilising existing the NEAC experimental floating plateform.  One of the intra-urban tests will be simulated in Le #Havre by CIRCOÉ.
