From remote mountain regions to islands and sparsely populated areas, communities face diverse challenges, such as: 🔹 Limited broadband access and infrastructure 🔹 Social isolation and unequal access to essential services 🔹 The need to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and preserving cultural heritage. To address these complexities, better data and tailored metrics are essential. Rural communities need to play a central role in shaping how well-being is measured and improved. 💻 Join our webinar today and explore:    ✅ Developing metrics that reflect the diverse realities of rural regions. ✅ Integrating social, economic, and environmental priorities. ✅ Practical steps to bridge gaps between data and rural citizens’ lived experiences. • 🚜 Farmers across Europe are pushing back against policies they believe threaten their livelihoods, highlighting the need for policies that truly address the needs of rural communities.   🏡 "Rural proofed" policies can be used to tackle the challenges faced, which include: 🔹 Access to services such as healthcare and housing  🔹 Gaps in digital and physical infrastructure   🔹 Policies that fail to account for trends in migration and depopulation     🌱 Rural regions hold significant potential as innovation hubs, but the gap between urban and rural areas in many OECD countries is widening. =  This growing divide alongside rising levels of distrust in national governments fuels frustration and a sense of being left behind.     📊 The new OECD - OCDE report "𝗥𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲" provides actionable solutions to bridge this gap, including:    🔹Diversifying rural economies through investments in digital and physical connectivity and skills development. 🔹Unlocking opportunities in the green economy through innovation, niche markets, and sustainable practices. 🔹Ensuring rural policies reflect the realities of rural citizens and equip communities to handle future challenges.   Read the report 📖 https://oe.cd/5OW
