A sneak preview into a new feature in the making for the Aragon Maestro Right now, we're developing a Proof of Concept feature for the Aragon Maestro smart speaker to detect various sounds other than speech and categorize them into groups such as non-speech sounds, animal noises, household noises, and alarms, to name a few. A Deeper Dive into new Features of the Aragon Maestro - Part 1 An important new core feature of the Aragon Maestro is the on-device presence of an on-board Large Language Model (LLM) and a To-do application. This inclusion enhances the capabilities of the device as a personal AI assistant. Crucially, it also keeps functionality local, giving users data privacy. The LLM, a fine-tuned model from Mistral AI, generates detailed responses to user queries, such as explaining how to cook pasta, or describing complex concepts such as fusion energy. The To-do app integrates seamlessly with the voice interface, allowing users to add tasks, reminders, and shopping list items directly to their Inbox, which can be accessed through a web-based user interface. How does the Aragon Maestro understand your speech so well? Thanks to a combination of new technologies, all functional on-device with no need for the Cloud, the Aragon Maestro smart speaker can clearly understand what you have to say, and keep your data private at the same time. What's said at home stays at home. The Aragon Maestro understands complex queries with no need to be trained on set vocabulary, thanks to the integration of an on-device ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) called Whisper developed by OpenAI. Whisper is capable of accurately transcribing many spoken languages into written text. Maestro’s hybrid text-to-speech on-device system of Kaldi and Whisper technologies augment the capability of the smart speaker to understand commands, even in noisy environments.
