Here is the very first FOCUS on the program for the International Webtoon Meetings (November 5-7, 2024).
Among the projects presented is "LE BRAS DE FER", produced by ECPAD, the French Defense Communication and Audiovisual Production Agency. The Deputy Director of ECPAD and Executive Producer, Gilles CIMENT, along with Pascal ROUSSEL, the director, will present the project and engage with the participants of the Meetings in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
"Le Bras de fer" (literally “arm wrestling”) is a free webcomic that reconstructs, in the form of a documentary-style graphic novel, several crucial and sometimes little-known episodes between 1942 and 1944, during which the fate of France's liberation was played out between General De Gaulle, UK Prime Minister Churchill, and US President Roosevelt. The production enlisted illustrator Jean DYTAR to bring these richly documented segments of French history to life, enriched with photographic, film, and sound archives from ECPAD’s collections. "Le Bras de fer" has received the "Mission Libération" label from the French State.
