🌌✨ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 ✨🌌 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬 - 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟎 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫! 🚀 World Space Week is an international event to honour science and technology and their contribution to improving human living conditions. World Space Week was launched by the United Nations General Assembly in 1999. We at Applus+ IMA, as a part of Applus+ Laboratories, are proud to be part of the fascinating world of space travel! With our extensive structural and endurance tests on the Vega-C* and Ariane-6*, we made an important contribution to the safety and reliability of these impressive rockets.  𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗮-𝗖 For the Vega-C, the impressive rocket of the European Space Agency (ESA), we carried out the static testing of the interstage 1/2 together with Airbus DS NL. For the full-scale test of the Interstage 1/2, a huge test rig was built by our Applus+ IMA team with which we were able to verify the strength and rigidity requirements. The launch of the Vega-C into space in 2022 was a very special moment for us and a significant milestone in the European space strategy. 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲-𝟲 Due to our expertise in the aerospace industry, we were entrusted with another mission: the validation of the intermediate structures of the Ariane 6 rocket. In order to test the strength and rigidity of the large structures carefully and reliably, the individual components had to withstand immense forces, which they did successfully. In total, four monumental test rigs were required for the test, which were designed and built specifically for this purpose. The safety test series always corresponded to the previous calculations of our engineers. The Ariane 6 rocket took its first flight from the Kourou space centre in French Guiana just this year. With great excitement, we followed the live launch on YouTube. You can find more information about our work on Ariane 6 here: https://lnkd.in/dgnbp5pQ More information about Word Space Week can be found here: https://lnkd.in/ePtv45i *The test mission was carried out and financed within the framework of an ESA program. The prime contractor is the Ariane Group. We are ready to ‘launch’ more exciting projects! Stay tuned! Applus+ Laboratories #WorldSpaceWeek #VegaC #Space #Innovation #Ariane6 #ApplusIMA
