Yesterday in Athens 🇬🇷 we celebrated 11 talented refugee women as they set forth on ambitious careers in tech. Each of the Fellows in our Boost programme shared her professional journey, skills, and career aspirations on the stage of the Stelios Foundation Conference Hall in Plaka, Athens, Greece 🌟 Thank you to everyone who made this evening so special (find the link to our press release in Greek below), to Spyridoula Zineli for expertly hosting the event, Madame Laurence AUER, the French Ambassador to Greece, and Cynthia Bustillos, a Sistech alumna, for their motivating words. Last week our community in Italy 🇮🇹 watched 14 talented refugee women launch ambitious careers in tech. Each of these Fellows in our Boost programme took the stage during our Networking Event at Cariplo Factory, explaining their professional experience and skills, and sharing their dreams for the future 🌟 Thank you to everybody (partner companies, volunteers, allies, supporters) who joined us for this milestone moment (see link to our press release in Italian below), and to Stefania Quaini for your insightful words. “Don’t be afraid to ask for help, to seek a mentor or a coach. If Sistech hadn’t been part of my journey, I wouldn’t have found my path in data analysis.” 🚀 Faranak, a Fellow from our Boost programme, shared these words on Saturday during a panel discussion hosted by Sistech at Open Conf. We explored innovative ecosystems, as well as  the challenges women face when pursuing tech careers. More importantly, we shared the ways to overcome these barriers.  Thank you to Open Conf for welcoming us and providing the platform, Marily Mitropoulou for expertly coordinating the discussion, and to Marilena Vasilakakou, a transformative HR leader and mentor. A special thank you also goes to our own Eftychia Filippou and our inspiring Fellows, Rukhsar Ahmadi and Faranak Mahrooghi, for sharing their inspiring stories! 🙏🏽

Last week two dozen Fellows in our Springboard programme had the privilege of visiting Ubisoft 🎮 The company’s video game franchises are world-famous, but it was more than fun and games at their HQ in the Paris region! Cybersecurity is one of the most popular career paths in Sistech’s upskilling programmes 🔒 But did you know women fill only 20% of cybersecurity positions worldwide? Our partner Orange has launched an international survey on how to strengthen women’s roles in cybersecurity, and we are encouraging our entire community to take part!
