🔓 And here are the answers to the Cabernet Franc Challenge! Clue #1 Answer: Tuffeau Limestone This unique, porous limestone soil in the Loire Valley (especially in Anjou, Saumur, and Touraine) allows the vines to access essential minerals, giving Cabernet Franc its mineral-rich elegance. Clue #2 Answer: The Loire Valley’s Climate Mix With influences from both oceanic and continental climates, the Loire Valley provides an ideal balance for Cabernet Franc, allowing it to ripen slowly and develop silky tannins with vibrant acidity. Clue #3 Answer: “Breton” Locally, Cabernet Franc is often affectionately called “Breton,” a nickname that honors the 17th-century Abbot Breton, who first cultivated the grape in the Loire Valley for Cardinal Richelieu. Congratulations if you've solved the riddle! Each clue reveals a unique story behind this great varietal. Can you guess them all? Clue #1: Beneath the vines lies an ancient secret. 🔵⚪️🔴 Conseillère Municipale et Métropolitaine de Nantes & Nantes Métropole. Ancienne Ministre.
