We are pleased to announce that UNIFE will organize on 26th September from 12:00 to 12:45 a Satellite Positioning for Railways panel discussion in InnoTrans at UNIFE Stand 630 in Hall 27. Main stakeholders involved in last R&I initiatives (EU-RAIL, EUSPA, RFI, SNCF and UNIFE) will discuss about the use of the GNSS and EGNOS in rail safety application, paying special attention to the past, on-going and future research activities. We are excited to be part of InnoTrans (Berlin 24-27 September 2024) the leading International trade fair for transport technology and we look forward to connecting with colleagues, exchanging knowledge and contributing to the advancement of this topic in the rail industry! Looking forward to having the opportunity of seeing you in the panel discussion!
THE CLUG PROJECT
Traduction et localisation linguistique
A 30-months EU-funded project to create a “Certifiable Localisation Unit with GNSS” for the railway sector.
À propos
Imagine trains using the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) all over Europe. Basically, satellites keeping Europe's railways on track. It's getting real! The EU-funded "Certifiable Localisation Unit with GNSS in the railway environment" (#CLUGProject) goal is to assess the creation of a failsafe on-board localisation unit using GNSS that will be interoperable across the entire European railway network.

We are pleased to announce that we will be participating in the TRA Conference in Dublin from April 15-18! We are excited to be part of this outstanding event in the transportation field, where crucial topics for innovation and safety in the rail industry will be addressed. One of the topics we will be highlighting is the "Fusion of GNSS Sensors and Augmentation Services for Safe Train Positioning". In a world where safety and accuracy are critical to rail transportation, we will explore how the combination of sensor data and GNSS augmentation services can significantly improve train positioning, ensuring safer and more efficient operation. We are excited to share our ideas and experiences in this area, as well as learn from other leaders and experts in the field during the session PS 2.1 Transport Safety & Sustainable Logistics on Tuesday 16th April 2024 from 9:45 to 11:00. We look forward to connecting with colleagues, exchanging knowledge and contributing to the advancement of the rail industry at the TRA 2024 Conference! See you in Dublin!”

Great news! 🎉 We have achieved a significant milestone in the CLUG 2.0 project with the delivery of "Work Package 2 - LOC-OB System Definition and Requirements Specification." This project, focusing on Unit Localization Certification using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) in the railway environment, is revolutionizing the way trains are localized using cutting-edge technologies such as GNSS and the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS). In this work package, we have conducted a thorough analysis of users' operational needs and the operational context of an onboard train localization system. This analysis has allowed us to define the system's capabilities and establish the necessary requirements. Additionally, we have observed nominal and degraded operational scenarios, focusing on mission startup and track selectivity, enabling us to identify further constraints for the system. This achievement represents a significant step toward our goal of achieving safer and more efficient railway operations. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to progress on our journey toward redefining the future of railway transportation!
