THE FRUITION TRILOGY

The Fruition Vignettes: An Experiment in Incremental Writing ------------------------------------------------------------ About a year after I'd finished and published the Trilogy's "encore" novelette, Locomotion (https://lnkd.in/dKuX82kA), I set about completing the entire saga through some easy-to-read and free-to-download short stories. Using incremental storyline development - more about that below - a series of five two-page stories emerged, called "The Fruition Vignettes". There are times, for sure, when we need to write a whole book (or a complete report, in the world of work) to get our point across. Then, there must be those moments when less is indeed more, when it might be better to write and release just a couple of pages at a time - to see what people make of whatever those two pages say, before writing any more. So, as an experiment I spent up to a day now and then, writing the next in a series of those two-page short stories. I didn't know what each one would be about until I wrote it, nor even how many stories there would eventually be, before it seemed there were enough.  #IncrementalDevelopment, applied to writing. Each of the Vignettes, and the story they've ended-up creating, considers a number of inter-related themes that are prevalent already, or are visibly up-and-coming.  Like the rest of the Trilogy they're sometimes a bit off-beat, realistically and on purpose, because people and enterprises all have their own quirks - and those quirks are often as influential in people's values, decisions and actions as the 'common logic' that our business-oriented books are otherwise bound to describe.
