The Paris International Agricultural Show is in full swing and we've got big news for the farming world: we are proud to announce the commissioning of BioNorrois, our 8th biomethane production unit in France! ! 👨🏻🌾🇫🇷 The French sugar group Cristal Union, partner in the project, will provide beet pulp, residues from its adjacent production site, to the #biomethane plant, which will represent up to 80% of organic materials used. BioNorrois brings our #biogas production capacity in France to more than 800 GWh, confirming our position as a major player in the market! The development of #BioNorrois is the result of consultation with all local stakeholders, including more than 1️⃣3️⃣0️⃣ farmers and agri-food industries as well as local administrations and officials, allowing the project to adapt to the needs of the territory. With this new project, TotalEnergies continues to contribute to the promotion of a circular economy with multiple local benefits, the production of renewable energies, and the decarbonization of the French energy mix! As part of its drive to decarbonize the #hydrogen consumed by its European refineries by 2030, TotalEnergies has signed agreements with Air Liquide for the development of two projects in the Netherlands involving the production and delivery of around 45,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen from #renewable electricity, most of which will come from the OranjeWind offshore wind farm, developed by #TotalEnergies (50%) and RWE (50%).🔋 Key project figures: .A reduction of up to 450,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year from TotalEnergies' refineries in Belgium and the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 .A contribution to #European targets for renewable energy in transport.✍ .A 250 MW electrolyzer, developed jointly with Air Liquide, will supply up to 30,000 tonnes of green H₂ per year to the Zeeland refinery.⚡ ️ .A tolling agreement for 130 MW from Air Liquide’s ELYgator electrolyzer will deliver 15,000 tons per year of green hydrogen to the Antwerp platform, reducing CO₂ emissions by 150,000 tons per year. All together we have signed a Framework for Action (FFA) agreement to drive access to clean energy in emerging markets and developing economies in Africa and Asia!
