🎂 It was a big day for the team at Koelnmesse GmbH as they were able to celebrate their 100th birthday in style in the just-finished new Confex conference centre ✨ 🎤 2,200 guests gathered to relive the past 100 years in a 100-minute programme that blended speeches from the state premier Henrik Wüst, Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker, AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry President Philip Harting and Kölnmesse CEO Gerald Böse with stunning performances. 🗣️ Kölnmesse is a founding member of UFI, and our CEO, Kai Hattendorf, was among the guests of honour. “Congratulations to the whole Kölnmesse team on the jubilee and on their new Confex hall! 📹 UFI Regional Director Europe Nick Dugdale-Moore takes you to the Exhibition Launchpad Competition at ZUYD University 🚀 🤝 For the second year running, UFI has worked with students from Facility Management Zuyd Hogeschool (near Maastricht, the Netherlands) to design and pitch a concept for an exhibition launch. ✍️ In the 7-week programme, students were tasked with designing an exhibition launch that would specifically attract a younger audience and include details on sustainability and digital products. 👥 Nick travelled to ZUYD to adjudicate the final presentations together with Ton Otten (Royal Jaarbeurs) and Oana Cipca (MECC Maastricht). They were also joined online by UFI European Chapter Chair David Boon, HR Working Group Chair Robert T. Heinemann, Marketing Working Group Chair Dorota Wallusch and UFI Programme Manager Education Anna Lawrence. 👏 Congratulations to "Next Gen Sports Labyrinth" for winning first place, and "AI in Hospitality Expo" as the runner-up! #ufi #ufiadvocacy #ufieurope #eventprofs #ZUYDUniversity #innovation #sustainability #AI #maastricht
