Leadership & Excellence in Architecture: Celebrating New Presidents and Honors 🎖️ The UIA congratulates Evelyn Lee, on her inauguration as the 2025 President of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). As the second Asian American woman to lead the AIA, she brings a fresh perspective, blending architecture with technology and business strategy under the theme THRIVE. Alongside this, Deborah Berke also received the 2025 AIA Gold Medal, the institute’s highest honor. With a career spanning over four decades, she has seamlessly integrated design excellence, academic leadership, and a steadfast commitment to social and environmental responsibility. We also celebrate Architect Miguel Sosa Correa, elected as President of the Federación de Colegios de Arquitectos de la República Mexicana (FCARM) for 2025–2026 during their 116th National Assembly. The UIA launches the Competition: "The Future of the Profession - Empowering the Next Generation in Participatory Urban Design" This initiative invites young architects worldwide to showcase their innovative solutions for participatory urban design, with a focus on UNESCO World Heritage Sites within urban contexts. The competition aligns with the theme of the UN-Habitat World Architecture Day 2024 and encourages innovative solutions to contemporary challenges, particularly those affecting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 💡 Eligibility Open to architects born on or after 1 January 1989.
