🌍 The Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) are a road map for a sustainable future. From eradicating poverty to combating climate change, every goal matters. 📣 The Food, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Land-Use and Energy (FABLE) Consortium is proud to have led a multi-country case study featured in FAO's 2024 State of the Food and Agriculture (SOFA) report, “Value Driven Transformation of #Agrifood Systems." FABLE's results show significant potential for reducing the accumulated hidden costs of agrifood systems by 2050, from 15% in the UK to 140% in Australia (in 2020 PPP), compared to the current trends scenario. Last month, at #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) brought #education to the forefront of discussions. The SDG Academy hosted an official side event, “Combating climate change across generations: Reinforcing global to local policy action for education,” to expose policymakers and other stakeholders to the ways education is “greening” across global contexts. Participants discussed how to inspire local action and policies that embrace education as a key lever for #climateaction. 🌍 Exciting news! The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been elected to the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee for the 2024-2026 term, representing the #WesternEurope region. This Liaison Committee serves as the collective voice of #NGOs, fostering dialogue with UNESCO and organizing international forums on pressing global issues.
