🍇 Meeting a legend in Winemaking🍇
Some of you already know that the past few years my lovely wife Svetlana and myself have been exploring the possibilities and developing our plans of managing our own vineyard.
We will one day share the full story with a good glass of wine.
In the meantime we are official and licensed winemakers and we’ll take our first big steps into the world of wine-making starting our vineyard in April 2025.
It's been an incredible learning experience so far, from soil analysis to selection of the vines, sustainable and pruning methods we will apply, how we will promote biodiversity, which kind of wine we would love to produce, …
Yesterday evening we had the privilege of hearing insights from the legendary flying winemaker Hugh Ryman (CEO at VINARTUS and also worked with Château Petrus and Château D'Yquem). His wisdom has truly contributed in further shaping our perspective on balancing tradition and innovation in wine-making in the future.
One of the most impactful lessons is understanding how climate change is reshaping viticulture. From shifting harvest times to adapting grape varieties, it’s clear we must work sustainably to preserve this art for future generations.
Through careful planning and eco-friendly practices, we hope to nurture a vineyard that not only produces exceptional wine but also respects the environment. Here’s to the start of an exciting, green journey! 🍇 🥂 ✨
Thanks again Eric Lanin for another wonderful evening.
Would love to hear advice or tips from fellow winemakers and enthusiasts!
