Wear Moi started selling its products in China a little over 10 years ago. The brand is now well-known among ballet enthusiasts in the country and is present in major metropolitan areas. I had the immense pleasure to meet key players in the dance industry, with the support of Luis Rubio who has been promoting and distributing the brand in China for over five years. Over a Decade of Collaboration: Celebrating Wear Moi and Sonata’s Partnership in Southeast Asia I’m thrilled to return to Singapore after many years to reconnect with Bridget Tai and the team at Sonata Dancewear. Over the past decade, Wear Moi and Sonata have cultivated a remarkable partnership, allowing our brands to collaborate and support each other’s growth across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. During my visit, Bridget and her team organized insightful conferences, providing me the opportunity to present our product range in greater detail. We highlighted our fashion leotards, pointe shoes, and soft ballet shoes, and I was able to share the inspiring story of Wear Moi. Founded in 1992 by my wife and co-founder, Elisabeth Ridet, and me while we were dancing with the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Wear Moi reflects our deep connection to the art of dance. Our history as professional dancers has guided our journey, creating products designed by dancers, for dancers. Kudos to Bridget for successfully expanding her business across three Southeast Asian countries, ensuring a consistent corporate image across all three stores and building strong, cohesive teams.
