WeCo are the first eco-innovative autonomous flushing toilets. All the excrements are recycled on site into treated water for flushing and energy. We are developing the eco toilets of the future with a strong R&D and eco-design focus. We co-develop with Alstom a plug and play system, a cartridge for wasted water treatment in the train toilets and other public toilets. Our clients are: sustainable cities, touristic places, train or boats manufacturers, building sites, removable constructions, events agencies, toilets renters, emerging countries without sewerage, private companies, real estate promoters, architects, plants. Eventually we develop domestic wastewater treatment systems for individuals, private and domestic uses (houses). We have been awarded by the Gates Foundation and Chinese National Tourism Agency - ADEME PEXE - Construction 21. We are AFNOR and ISO experts for sanitation.

https://lnkd.in/ewYk--Bj Another great article from the International Water Association newspaper about #Inclusive #urban #sanitation with interviews from sanitation specialists in emerging countries. Some highlights "Yvonne Magawa: Having recognised that most of the urban population relies on non-sewered sanitation, ESAWAS, as a network of WSS regulators, has begun a paradigm shift towards inclusive sanitation. In 2018, ESAWAS formulated a regulatory framework and strategy to incorporate non-sewered sanitation into regulation." Sylvain Usher from the Association Africaine de l'Eau et de l'Assainissement I had the chance to make him visit our first installation of WeCo - Toilet. "During decolonisation of most of the African countries in the 1960s, our newly designated heads of states were mainly concerned about giving access to potable water to the population of newly constructed cities, putting together potable water treatment plants and networks and creating the potable water utilities. Thinking about where the used water would go was not the main preoccupation so long as there was a river or sea where the wastewater could be disposed. No awareness was raised about the potential pollution of the environment. At the beginning of urbanisation during this period, there was slow migration to the cities. The World Bank estimates that inadequate sanitation costs African countries billions of dollars each year in lost GDP. The concept of inclusive urban sanitation is spreading across Africa. Its urgent implementation is required to avoid a hygiene calamity exacerbated by the consequences of climate change." Neeta Pokhrel: "Also, the drivers for sanitation are not being recognised by investors. The public are not putting politicians under pressure to invest in sanitation, and this is exacerbated by short political cycles. Because the demand is not there, the investment is not there. Investment depends on cost recovery. Sanitation for many people means investment in sewers. Sewers are costly and politicians don’t press for them because they would rather invest in more visible things, such as water supply, bridges, roads, and railways. We need to recognise that there is a cost to not investing in sanitation. We need to make stakeholders aware of the economic losses from the health impacts of poor sanitation." Note that Boston Consulting Group (BCG) considers that the ROI from investing in sanitation is for 1 USD invested, 5 USD given back to the investor. And if with WeCo - Toilet we want to provide sustainable, hygienic safe and inclusive #sanitation solutions to everyone, everywhere, we can also offer great opportunities to investors with our fundraising campaign (contact@weco-toilet.com). Remember that United Nations COP28 UAE highlighted the important strides for water SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute that will keep pushing for #water 's central role in #climate action.
