Empowering you to build a wilder world.

À propos

Empowering you to build a wilder world. Want to become the next David Attenborough, Kris Tompkins or Sylvia Earle? We increase your impact by transforming you from caring about nature to acting for it. 🐘 How we do it: We are building an ecosystem that gives you agency to tackle the biggest challenge of our time: the biodiversity crisis. But what the frog is an ecosystem? Imagine interactive video courses, community, events, resource databases & much more. A blueprint to get you from a nature enthusiast to a biodiversity builder. 🐋 Why we exist Nature is not doing well. If you don’t belong to the human species, you basically frogged. If we don’t act, 1,000,000 species will face extinction in the coming years, which is bad news for us who depend on biodiversity for survival (food, clean water, oxygen, resources, etc.). So we need to get our act together asap. But how? That’s where it quickly gets overwhelming. For you if you Feel lost Feel a lack of time Feel overwhelmed Feel your impact is too small Feel lost about where to start Feel unequipped/skilled to act Feel disconnected from nature Feel lonely in your interests, thoughts, actions Feel you need more money to make a difference We are building Wildya for you so you can become the biodiversity builder you are at heart. 👉 Join the herd: https://wildya.earth

7 tips how you can start to reach 5,973,644 eyeballs for nature & your impact project. This year I got nature in front of 5,973,644 eyeballs. But 2 years ago I was exactly where you are at right now. Barely posting, mostly consuming. I started to post every day in January 2023, and for the first 5 months... 🦗 Crickets. Nobody cared. Devastating experience & I almost gave up 78 times. I want you to have an easier time. 💪 7 tips to give you a head start: 1. Connect for real ↳ At the beginning, I proposed to jump on a call with most people I connected with ↳ Real human connection makes all the difference in this anonymous world  2. Comment away ↳ Before even worrying what to post about, just start commenting ↳ Much easier & you can still show your expertise  ↳ Ideally, under posts, where the people are you want to reach in the future 3. Hit publish ↳ Hitting that publish button is the scariest stuff at the start  ↳ That fear only decreases by constantly posting  ↳ When you start your posts are only shown to a tiny group of people, so the risk is much smaller than you make them up to be 4. Study the best ↳ We study business, biodiversity & co. why should Social Media be any different?  ↳ Study your favorite nature voices & analyze their best posts ↳ What do they have in common & what resonates with you? 5. Mix it up ↳ Until you find formats that work for you, go crazy in testing ↳ Test text, pictures, selfies, videos, carousels, polls & co.  ↳ With time, you figure out what works best for you & what you enjoy the most 6. Dedicate time ↳ Social Media is a very noisy space ↳ To get any eyeballs, you need to dedicate some serious time ↳ I still spent >10h per week on here  ↳ You can start with 1h per week, but put it into your calendar 7. Bring Karma ↳ Lead by example ↳ Actually, care for what others are doing in the space ↳ Comment, repost, like, promote, compliment, connect them  ↳ Help other as much as you can  ↳ Karma usually comes around & others will like you to succeed, too Tonight on Wildya, I will give a masterclass on Linkedin, where I will go into more detail. Will share frameworks, deep dive on a post, tools, tips & co. + answer all your questions. 👉 WANT TO JOIN?  1. Scroll to the top of the post & click on "VISIT WEBSITE" 2. Join Wildya  3. Test a 10-day free trial of Wildya+ & join us tonight I am not special. This is not magic. I promise you, you can do this too. Let's get you & nature some more eyeballs! P.S. What do you find most challenging about social media? #biodiversity #linkedin #masterclass

What if nature had the marketing power of Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike & co? 🛠️ Marketing is a mighty tool that changes our minds daily. Apple convinces us that we need a new phone every year  Nike convinces us plastic shoes make us athlete superstars Disney convinces us that we need yet another superhero movie Tesla convinces us that yet another car will solve the mobility crisis  Coca-Cola convinces us that a sugar bomb creates better connections 💭 But what if we would use this power to boost biodiversity? To convince people to invest in rewilding endangered species  To convince people to make nature a priority To convince people to protect habitats This power would make the world wilder in less than 5 years. 🧐 But how do we make this happen? We learn from the best. Like Gilles Toussaint. He helped grow Planet Wild from 3,000 to 9,000 members in just a few months. So, I invited him to give us a Growth Marketing Masterclass on Wildya+ tonight at 7pm CET. You & I are going to learn how we scale our nature projects & finally get the attention we deserve. 👉 Want to join?  1. Scroll to the top of the post & click on "VISIT WEBSITE" 2. Join Wildya 3. "We try, because we're not going not to try." Ken Wood The most frequent question I get asked is whether I am pessimistic or optimistic about our future & biodiversity. My answer is 2 sided. 👉 # 1 SIDE 🤬 PESSIMISTIC: Slow changes  ↳ It took me 4 years to give up meat & fish; how long will it take for an entire society? Overwhelmed governments ↳ Rightwing pressure, war, A.I., climate change & co. our current governments lack clear leaders & are visibly overwhelmed  Bottom prio for companies ↳ Biodiversity is still not seen as an immediate threat to companies & their bottom lines, so the topic ends up at the bottom of the prio list Shifting baseline syndrome ↳ With every year more people get used to a degraded version of our natural world & will take this as their baseline of nature. Until none will be left. 🤩 OPTIMISTIC: Can't see tipping points ↳ They are invisible, maybe we are on the brink of a positive tipping point, where people will say enough is enough. We have seen it in the past. Biodiversity is tangible ↳ Unlike climate, biodiversity is much more tangible. We can see trees, whales, birds & co. So it should be easier to make the case for it. Nature is good for us  ↳ We benefit from her medicine, food, oxygen, water, beauty & more. Sooner or later we have to realize. Only money is missing ↳ Science is clear. We got the solutions. We got the talents. We only lack money to turn this from a crisis to the biggest comeback story ever. Inspiring people left & right ↳ Every day, I meet incredibly inspiring people who dedicate their lives to prevent our & other species' extinction. They keep me going. Overall, I am rather pessimistic if I have to choose. BUT... 👉 # 2 SIDE It doesn't matter what I believe about our future. It only matters if I show up for the future I want to see. We all have 2 choices: ❌ Don't do anything & watch ↳ Low chance of positive outcome ✅ Do something & act ↳ Higher chance of positive outcome My favorite animal is the honey badger, who never gives up in a fight. I will do the same when it comes to building a wilder world. I will try. Are you with me? P.S. What about you? Are you rather pessimistic or optimistic? #biodiversity #nature #environment

WHAT IF companies would include non-human personas in their decision-making? 💡Why it matters: If we only ever focus on human needs. We will continue to build a world that concentrates solely on the needs of one species: Us. Neglecting the interest of around >8,000,000 other species. Continuing the road toward mass extinctions. 🙋♀️ Status Quo: Currently, all product & marketing decisions companies make are human-centric & based on personas. Personas are made-up characters that represent a company's ideal customers. They are created using research & information about real people. Personas help businesses understand who their customers are by showing what they want, how they act, what drives them, & what problems they face. 🤯 WHAT IF: Now imagine we would add animals, plants & fungi to the mix. Just imagine their interests would be reflected in every company decision, too. 👩🌾 Example: Soft drink company The company could now try to balance Marcus & Billy's needs. Possible actions could be to: Reduce sugar Create healthier alternatives  Shift from plastic to glass bottles  Reduce fresh water usage in production Stop water pollution from production facility Contribute 1% of sales to beaver rewilding initiatives 👉 Do you want to create your non-human persona? Join us tonight (7p.m. CET) on a Wildya+ workshop. Product Discovery & Innovation Consultant Manuela Risch will give us a masterclass on how to create non-human personas. 1. Scroll to the top of the post & click on "VISIT WEBSITE" 2. Join Wildya 3. Test a 10 day free trial of Wildya+ & join us tonight "Life is too short to build products for a world we don't want to live in" Manuela Risch So it's time to change that & bring in new wild perspectives into company decision-making. P.S. Which animal, plant, fungi would you make your company persona? #biodiversity #nature #regenerative

This video made me quit my dream job to dedicate myself 24/7 to biodiversity & climate. 🦓 4 years ago, I was working in the travel industry. Living a pretty sweet life. Fantastic colleagues, traveling in Africa, great responsibilities & co. And then came COVID. 🏠 It locked us all up. So I turned on Netflix. "Our Planet". I still didn't watch it. Then I watched this scene of the walrus falling from cliffs. 🤬 This is our doing. Our actions & inactions are causing other animals to do this. Their home is melting away, because of our love for fossil fuels. Rage, anger, anxiety, sadness, disbelief, hopelessness. A toxic cocktail of emotions. Couldn't sleep for a week. Biodiversity loss was not new to me at this stage, yet this scene gave me a crucial push. 🪞 I had some critical self-reflection to do. I always claimed to be a nature lover & defender. But that was a pretty big lie I was telling myself. I didn't read nature books, papers, magazine I didn't work in the nature field or for nature I didn't have friends that cared about this  I didn't watch animal documentaries I didn't spend much time in nature  I didn't speak up about it at work  I didn't donate part of my salary Definitely not the life of a nature lover. 🦁 So I decided to live up to my 5-year-old self & this illusion of myself. Step by step I started to make my life wilder. I listened to experts I became a safari guide  I took an ecology course  I donated 3% of my salary  I spend more time in nature I changed my diet drastically  I asked people for online meetings I searched on Linkedin for likeminded  I co-created the animal policy at work  I watched all documentaries I could find I read articles, reports, books, magazines I started to write on Linkedin about nature I quit my dream job to make biodiversity my 24/7 priority with Wildya 💚 Why am I sharing this? For those of you that feel that something is off in your life. Those of you that are at the point I was 4 years ago. Where your inner self & your actions are not aligned. No matter what problem in this world you feel most strongly about: climate, biodiversity, social justice, inequality etc. "just" start. Take small actions to live up to your inner self. Step by step, your inner self & the person you actually are will be the same. Just start with the 1st step today. You got this. P.S. What moment/movie/book/person changed your life? #biodiversity #nature #GreenerTogether #LinkedInNewsEurope Video Credit: Our Planet on Netflix

NEW Wild Idea: Nature Conversation Starter Cards Should we do it? 🐘 Context: At Wildya, we spend 80% of our work trying to improve our herd members' existing experience by building a better ecosystem, community, events, courses etc. But 20% of the time, we like to keep exploring if we can find something that helps you exponentially more to build a wilder world. So you will see me frequently share wild ideas like this. 😫 The problems I hear from you: ‧ you constantly have time restraints ‧ you don't want to be online all the time  ‧ feeling you alone in caring about nature  ‧ hard to start a nature conversation with others ‧ tricky to not come across as a teacher or preacher   ‧ you like to spend time with family, friends, colleagues & co.   ‧ you like to see some form of gamification to reconnect people with nature 🐋 Our proposed solution: Nature conversation starter cards. 50 cards that start the conversation about nature & what it means to each of us. E.g.  ‧ What was your first soft toy? ‧ What does nature mean to you? ‧ What is the earliest memory you have in nature? ‧ What was the last action you took to support nature? ‧ If you could be an animal for a day, which one would you be? Perfect to start an open conversation about nature at your next dinner party, birthday, christmas & co. 🎁 Bonus:  ‧ Every purchase protects & restores nature (15% of the revenue goes to Wilderlands)  ‧ QR code on the game so people can learn more about biodiversity & some simple action they can take 💵 Price:  The first small batch production is always the most expensive. So probably around 20-30€. (This is just a mockup design) ⏰ Timeline:  If you want this, we believe we can get them to you before Christmas. 👉 So what do you think?  To evaluate the interest. We need 100 E-mail addresses of interested people to make this happen. You can join the waitlist here: https://lnkd.in/eveRKfei I love this wild community we have become here & I incredibly value your opinion. So rather than calling all the shots, I want to co-create Wildya with you so it becomes a force of nature for people & planet. I believe starting a conversation with someone about nature is a great first step towards a wilder world. But what do you think? #biodiversity #nature #environment

These Earthshot prize winners came up with a brilliant blueprint for co-existence. It's called Soul Forest. 💡 Why does it matter? ↳ If we keep business as usual, 1,000,000 species face extinction in the next years. ↳ We clearly have to learn how to co-exist with other species.  ↳ But we need pragmatic solutions to restart this process. 🤩 What is the Soul Forest Model? Soul Forest transforms barren lands into vibrant, life-sustaining ecosystems that nurture nature & local communities. 80% of the land goes to biodiversity conservation, while the remaining 20% hosts sustainable economic initiatives. They blend ancient Vedic wisdom of design with modern ecological methods to restore biodiversity effectively. 💚 What are the benefits? ‧ Protecting habitat in densely populated countries like India ‧ Provide first-hand experiences of living in tune with nature ‧ Raise awareness of biodiversity conservation ‧ Showcase regenerative agriculture ‧ Educate the next generation  ‧ Generating job opportunities ‧ Boosting local biodiversity  ‧ Capture Carbon ‧ Conserve water 🦸♂️ Who is behind it? Sathya Raghu V Mokkapati Before Soul Forest India he co-founded Kheyti a technology solutions start-up for small farmers, which was awarded the prestigious The Earthshot Prize. And his connected Ted Talk got watched 25,300,000 times. But from the beginning, he was aware of how intertwined biodiversity & farming are, so he created Soul Forest India to tackle biodiversity loss. 👉 Want to learn more? Tonight on Wildya+ (7pm CET) Sathya Raghu V Mokkapati & Srikar Mokkapati are giving us a deep dive into the blueprint, the challenges, the wins, how this blueprint can be replicated in your area & answer all your questions. Join us simply by:  # 1 Scroll to the top of this post under my name click on "VISIT WEBSITE" # 2 Join Wildya  # 3 Subscribe to Wildya+ (10 days free trial) We need to re-learn how to live in harmony with nature & this is one of the best blueprints I have seen so far to get there. Let's create Soul Forests all around the world. P.S. How do you think we can re-learn to co-exist? #biodiversity #nature #environment Video Credit: Soul Forest

This is the most biodiverse desert in the world & you never heard of it. This is Richtersveld. First of all deserts? Biodiversity? "I thought that's just sand." For a long time I thought so too. But there is much more to them than meets the eye. 💡 Why Richtersveld matters Richtersveld region stands as an ecological wonder, acclaimed as the most biodiverse arid landscape on the planet. It inhabits species that don't exist anywhere else. If we lose them here, we lose these species forever. Yet an alarming 85% of its total biomass has died. 🤬 Why is under severe threat Climate Change ↪ Puts severe pressure on this unique ecosystem, with temperatures rising by +3° in just 7 years (2012-2019). Plant poaching ↪ The rarity of the plants is their curse. With the scale of the trade worth more than the rhino horn. Illegal Mining ↪ Tearing apart the land, reducing vibrant ecosystems to barren wastelands. 🌱 The Plant Shepard that fights against this Pieter van Wyk. In 1830s his elders hunted the last hippo & cheetahs that existed in this area. He represents a point of change. He has stopped +400 000 plants from being poached. He built a backup. His house is a herbarium containing 5,000 plant specimens. He protects & restores this place for all of us. 💪 3 actions you can take to help # 1 Share.  Repost this powerful video created by Ben Melle Pama & David Nivison so that more people learn about this magical place. # 2 Join.  Ben & I will have deeper dive into the Richtersveld in a Linkedin Live on the 14th of Novemeber. (Link in comments) # 3 Support.  Get in touch with Ben Melle Pama to see how you can help with donations, skills, partnerships etc. so we can keep guarding this place for future generations. This is literally the Garden of Eden; we can't let it disappear on our watch. Are you with Peter, Ben & me? P.S. Did you know deserts could be full of biodiversity? #biodiversity #nature #environment #desert
