🌍Today marks the opening of the call for papers for the Final Conference of the EU-funded HABITABLE project , that will be held in #Nairobi (Kenya) on December 4-6, 2024.
📑The HABITABLE Consortium, which brings together 22 partners from 18 countries, invites you to submit your papers for this exceptional opportunity to present your key findings and to engage with peers, practitioners, and experts in the fields of #ClimateMigration from all over the world and various scholarly backgrounds.
We invite submissions of papers that resonate with the main domains of the project, including but not limited to the following topics:
➡️“#habitability” as a conceptual and analytical tool;
➡️interactions between geo-climate factors and other drivers of migration, including
social, economic, political, cultural and demographic factors;
➡️predictive models at different spatial and temporal scales;
➡️the role of perceptions of environmental and socioeconomic factors, and how
these influence migration aspirations and assessments of (un)inhabitability;
➡️micro- and meso-level coping strategies and adaptation solutions;
➡️the impact of migration on the resilience and vulnerability of sending and
receiving communities;
➡️ the role of existing policies and legal frameworks;
➡️ human-rights based approaches to climate migration and displacement;
➡️ scenario narratives focusing on the impacts of climate events and migration;
➡️ the gender and social equity dimension of the climate-migration nexus.
